ABS Issue? Advice please.

  SLK 350
Right came back from work earlier and the car was fine. Just drove over to a friends and on starting the car the SERV light is on and the ABS (far left) and ESP/Traction light is also on.

The only reasoning i can think of is that the rear pads needs replacing (which i am planning on this week) however there is still a few .mm of pad left on the liner - therefore am not sure if this would trigger the fault.

See what feedback i get from your guys, but failing that ill disconnect the +ve on the battery to reset the ECU into 'learning mode' and see if that stops the fault.

However, any ideas?

Cheers.

Stock rear pada are only 6mm from new and there no sensor only one for brake fluid level so check that but I don't think thats your problem.
If the fault doesn't just go away 9this is a Renault after all I've had problems like this before) then it sounds like a faulty sensor there a few in the car so only Renault can prove which one it is unfortunatly.

Hm was hoping this was a more common problem that people would have knowledge of, seems not.

Basically confirmed this morning that my ABS and Traction is not working so somethings defo not right.

Any idea on cost of these ABS sensor things?

When my golf played up i removed each wheel & cleaned each sensor with a toothbrush, they get covered in crap, worked on the golf.

Each sensor was about £30, long time ago!!!!!!

Itrs probably the ones on the front then remove the wheels and have a look at the sensors and there wires to see if they have charfed. New ones are £50 or so and if you've broke on that your best opion don't try and fix it just relpace them.
Don't remove them though as you have to put them back properly and measue distances.
