Simple genuine question.
From my basic understanding the timing setup only cause issues when fitting a new belt kit because of the floating pulleys?
If an engine is known to have correct timing is it then possible to lock or fix the pulleys in place? Maybe weld the pulleys onto the cam shaft crank etc?
Would this then negate the use of the Renault tools and allow more primitive timing methods?
Maybe a completely stupid question but I am curious?
