Depends which side.
Passengers side side drivesfaft seal is part of the gearbox seal so if you undo the three bolts holding it in all the gearbox oil leaks out.
Drivers side is help in place by a driveshaft pin so just knock the pin out and the shaft come out without any problem.
Its the drivers side, im swapping the shaft for a new one and cant be arsed changing the oil plus i also dont want any spilling all over my drive!! By looking at the shaft it is female on the shaft end and male in the box.
Biojo i would of thought this too as on every shaft ive taken out of a box n/s o/s they always piss oil out, never seen one with a female end tho
It won't leak oil. Just knock the pin out then pull the shaft out. The only possible oil is if someone lubed up the shaft when they fitted it but there no need as its not a tight fitting part and even so it wouldn't ever be a drop.
Have a look on the other side and you'll see what I mean by that side being different as it covers the gearbox.
