182 Exhausts - Hot Side

  Yaris Hybrid

I have noticed that the left hand exhaust on my car gets hotter and is dirtier inside than the right hand exhaust?

As if most of the exhaust gasses is passing through left handside.

Something wrong or no?

The standard system doesnt provide even airflow, so yes what youre seeing is normal for the standard 182.

Drove about 4 miles today then took my car to the green light in 3rd. Looked in mirror whilst I was doing this and after about 5k rpm I could see loads of condensation (hope it wasnt smoke!!!) pouring up around the rear window. Anyone else noticed this?? Seems like a bizarre aerodynamic effect for it to be all over the rear window at 80mph!?

Yeah I try to take it out at least once on a weekend and put a good thirty miles on it with some high revs.

During the week the longest journey I do is 9 miles and its all under 3000rpm and most under 2500rpm.

Dont really like revving it hard unless Ive done 10 miles but I figure if I dont I will get a lot of rubbish build up so if I can get it reasonably warm I will take it to 7k just once or twice on the way home from work.

Wow just did 80 miles with some hammering in the last 30 but in the last 3 miles I took it nice and steady and when I got back the right hand exhaust was stone cold! If I reached back further to where you get to the thinner bit then it was warm.

Its going to be biased towards the L.H pipe, the lead up to the L.H pipe is straight where as the R.H pipe has a 90 deg bend in it. Therefore the majority on the fumes are forced straight out the L.H side and a small amount backs up and works its way round to the R.H pipe.
