182 & an Elf, Lepe Beach shots

Had a family day out at Lepe Beach and parked in the public car park near the Beach. Good opportunity for some photos. my son was parked next to me as he drove my Riley Elf there. Stood on the cliff for a while and watched people walking by the cars. Guess which one had most people looking at it?

No contest really, The Elf won by about 20 people to 1.

Had the Elf for about three years now and was in reasonable standard condition. The person I bought it from had done some bodywork and got it roadworthy. The only problem with it was that every time we drove it, the damn thing would break down. Spent a fortune over the last couple of years on reliability, changing electrics, fuel and cylinder head. Now having problems with brakes not being up to scratch to cope with the extra power from the twin carbs, new cylinder head and exhaust system. Refurbed the alloys and added the group 2 arches. Just need to spray the roof as the paint is knackered but looks okay from afar. This has been aproject that my son and I have enjoyed working on and trying hard to keep modifications to period.

The black dice were a pressy from the missus as she thought I had gone back to my Boy Racer roots when I bought the Clio.
