Am I right in thinking that the 172 has 13cm speakers front and back. Will polk 13cm speakers go straight into the front or are the magnets too big and will hit window. Just that i have been offered these speakers at a very good price for the top of range components. What would the best way to fit them be, is it best to get rid of standard speaker cable and start wiring from scratch, if so where would you put the crossovers. Because the front on 172s are components is there a crossover for the speaker and tweeter to join and where is it.
Sorry if i am asking silly stupid questions just wana get this sytem setup right. ICE is not my specialty.
Also i want to get a new headunit which means getting rid of the autochanger. What would people recommend. I want to make this system very good. Was thinking of getting a alpine monitor headunit. Found it for 600 quid but only has radio and can only link up to one device (so autochanger or dvd). Can anyone recommend something better. I quite fancy a screen but am just about to buy speakers so cant afford a 1000 screen. I am getting a new headunit cos i need to run an amp for the speakers. CAn anyone recommend am amp, price that would be suitable for polk front and rear speakers and maybe also to run a decent sub.
