buy a 172... they're cheaper for exactly the same car... and you can get them in flame red![]()
How much cash have you saved?
a 172 with eibach pro springs gives you everything a cupped 182 will![]()

lol hmm... interesting argument.
I wouldn't spend more than £8k on a 182 if its a 182 ur looking at. I'll never buy a new car again, If it was June 04 again I'd buy a mk2 172 with low mileage instead of a brand new 182.
if you can get a mint mk2 172 for £7k or a mint 182 for £9k on similar mileage, take the 172.
*edit* seeing your budget definitely go for a mk2 172.

Would a 2003 172 be a mark 2, I've been offered one in mint condition with 20,000 miles on the clock for 7, 250. I really wanted a mondial blue one but silver will have to do.
Not much difference between them all realy a good 172 Full fat (which is arguably the slowest) can easily beat a bad Cup.Well for a start there is hardly any difference in performance unless you get a 172 cup light as fook if i am wrong I'm sure i willl be corrected. if i was in you shoes i would go for a 182 with cup packs you get all the toys with the better suspension thats just my veiw hope this helps
If it were my money I'd spend say £4k on a phase 1 172 and spend the rest on holidays. You'll probably want a 182 though you can pick them up for less than £7k if you shop around. There two on the trader one with 182 Cup suspension which whilst not making a huge difference to ride people demand often when they come to buy.I've got about £7400
if all thats been done and its 7250 fair enough.
no speed limits eh lucky git
