i have a mrk1 172 and a devil de cat. i have two lambdas and the de cat has 1, do i conect the plug nearest the engine or nearist the back, what do i do with the other?
Just unplug the second sensor and tape the wiring up out the way.
You should only be able to put the cat on 1 way round and you plug in the sensor which would be the first one the exhaust gas would get to.
ie
Old setup
Engine -> exhaust manifold -> sensor 1 -> cat -> sensor two -> rest of exhaust
New setup
Engine -> exhaust manifold -> sensor 1 -> decat -> rest of exhaust
that doesnt sound right. The first sensor is used to determine whether or not the engine is running rich or lean and so the fuelling can be adjusted. The second takes a reading after the cat that is compare to the pre cat reading to make sure the cat is doing its job properly. Therefore having the second one unplugged should make the car see the cat as doiung a VERY good job and not put the light on, i think :S
