172 Cup Crunchy Gearbox (Video Inside)

I've had a slight crunch into 4th for about a year now, but this has gotten worse as it's starting to happen into 2nd and 3rd too.

You can hear the crunch in the below video, where the mic was in the engine bay (Yes drag racing doesn't help the box haha)



I'm guessing it's bad synchros among other things (Can't complain as it's been hammered for 81k miles)

What is a rough cost for getting it rebuilt these days? I'll be wanting a new clutch in too seeing as the box will be off.

If it's crunching into 2nd gear, you are in for a big repair bill mate!! They don't do the original synchro for 2nd gear anymore, so you need the updated kit which is £200 straight off. After that your into £380 for the bits to sort the crunchy 3rd and 4th gear. Labour on top.
