172 Cup 5th Gear Noise????

Hi

I have just purchased a 2004 172 which seems to drive fine but when I put it into 5th gear I can hear a sort of scraping noise (Does not affect go in gear)

Any help whould be appreciated!!!:S

Drop the box oil, remove the 5th/Revese end plate and inspect for damage... I'm betting there's visible damge or the end cap nut is loose.
