172 coilovers to fit 182?? whats invlolved?

  clio 200 F4Rt
is there much work needed to get a 172 coilover to fit a 182?

if so what needs to be done?

finally, is 600 quid for a set of H&R for a 172 a good price? (brand new)

thanks

Not much. You need to drill the mounting holes out a bit more 2 or 4mm from memory. (assuming you've got cup suspension packs if you havn't then 172 coilovers are a direct fit).

I think you can pick them up from 2 modified on here for £550.

i did mine the other way round 182-172
easy job but you will need to set camber 'cos your garanteed to end up with the camber pissed up

Ask Tom, he tried it and iirc a hub change is the only way!! Fook that!

Buy a 172 cup, easy.
Hub change is dead easy. £80 for 2 second hand ones.
I thought Tom had kept to the stock setup in the end?

matt.. trust me the ledas are your ONLY real option on a 182 with cup susp..

you can modify the 172 struts to fit 182 hubs but i dont think its going to be very safe and if your opening the hole spacing your pputting the holes close to the edge of the plate which cant be very safe really.

182 cup suspension available, just GAZ and leda - gaz are shite, leda are expensive, cant win!

If you have a none Cup packed car ie with the light grey alloys then normal 172 stuff is a direct fit only the Cup packed cars have the new hubs.

182 Cup spec suspension has the new front dampers all others 172 Cup/172 full fat/182 none cup packed) have the old 54mm hubs.
The new 182 Cup hubs are 58mm so you need to drill the bolt holes out a bit bigger.
