i always used to switch it off on the 172 if i was planning on going fast specially at lights etc.. not sure if it was psychological but seemed to go better turned off.. the esp/tc can apply brakes and/or limit engine power, and even though the light is meant to come on when it does anything...

yeah the rain sensitive wipers suck mostly.. you spend all the time willing them to wipe lol. or else they go like really fast for no reason!

my 182 comes good noticable about 1 minute after starting up.. the 172 before took about two minutes.. there was certain place down the road where i would think, yep about now itll... woooooaaahh there she goes :)

im reckoning a little dab of grease should do the trick... i think its where the air is blowing through the gap formed by where the mirror can fold in (if that explains it!) or a big blob of blue tac perhaps

it used to do that on the mk1 172, for first few seconds after you started it would say "oil ok" then if you pressed the button it would go to a little row of os like "oooo--" or "o-----", showing the actual amount roughly. but on my mk2 it just says the "oil ok" theres no way to get the os ...

also. does the diagnostic mode if you turn key to main on position, hold stalk button, turn off key, then let go and turn key back on again. that might be bit wrong but close enough. i miss the oil level function on mk1 172. i guess they had to extract 1500 quid from the car somewhere

i got a mk2 172 currently.. dont get any beeps, but after doing the three on/offs (within 7 seconds!) then when you lock the car, the LED for the alarm (next to gear stick) will come on solidly for a while. if it doesnt, the 3 on/offs havent been registered or you took too long to get out.

(speaking for 172) it doesnt do it if the wipers are off? you have to reset the auto wipers anyway after stopping the engine, before they will work at the front again (i think) so you might as well switch wipers to off when it aint raining? i must say the so-called automatic wipers (front)...

My 172 is about same age, just going along you feel the bumps etc but I wouldnt say it pulls the steering. There is one pot hole on a bend I go round occasionally (not often enough that I remember!) which can pull the steering wheel out of my hand if Im not holding on, but this is definitely an...

172 was keep it under 3500 rpm/80 mph (from memory, its something like that anyway) for first 625 miles (1000km)
