Ive had the same thing twice. First time both cars, second time the keys to the wifes car. You can claim for new locks on the TF through house insurance, therefore not risking your no claims. If your car does go missing without you having both sets, you might not be insured. My insurer wanted...
Im a sad guy that has spent far too much money in my near 40 years on McDonalds, Currys and High Fat Lager. The time has also been spent enjoying a lot of cars inc an E46 M3, RS4 and lots of Scoobies. Im always after a car that gives you a smile whilst you drive and when you get home, sit down...
Im an ex R32 and 182 owner - got a new GTI at the mo. The R32 is a special car in many ways. The exhaust note will always be special and i quite liked the handling. The mid range poke was a little underwelming, but the 182 needs ragging as well. As a true hot hatch, the 182 is hard to beat. My...
All the residual talk is interesting. Ive been looking for a new car recently. Used to own a Cooper S and it was one of the most disapointing experiences I have had. Did feel slower than my old 182 and the traction/ride on wet B roads left a bit to be desired. Some of that was IMHO the runflats...
As an ex ATR and LCR driver, my preference is for the 182 if you like driving. The LCR certainly lacked soul and whilst fast was just dull. Needs a chip.

Is not always down to tax. Dealers buy cars on demo plans at a cheaper price. They need to keep them for 3 months before sale. Therefore no V5 is transfered untill that date. Ive bought a couple of cars this way

You can buy a new Megane 225 for £16,150. Uk car, first registered owner etc. Number of brokers will sort this.

Have to say the ride quality is better than my 182 and it is pretty good on the handling stakes. Not as sharp and chuckable as the 182 though.
Interior is nice, but the Leather can sag and there can...
OK Ill step up a level to a Leon 1.8T sport, but that is the limit. I canceled my order after driving a Fabia Rs to the test drive and then the flat performance of the RX-8. My 350Z killed it for get up and go
The cars are French. Give them a bottle of red or an increase in their fishing quota and they will always obey.
Mines fines as long as you dont rush !!
I would go back and declare it asap. Upgraded wheels, even when fitted at the factory are open to increased premiums.
If you are involved in a bad accident, they will not pay. One of my mates friends £50k Porsche was not paid out on due to 1mm to little tread, even though the tyres marks were...
BEWARE
I had a VERY long chat with Tesco/Direct Line/Privledge
At first they stated that the Cup options did not add anything, but after checking with the underwritters they DO. They were happy with the suspension, but the spoiler added £100 to the quote - I know for the size it is a joke...
I got 2k of my Clio, so hopefully it wont hurt too much come disposal. Couldnt do 30k a year in a 182.
How do you find the steering compared to the 182 ?
Do you think it can handle more power ?
Thanks
Jonathan

I am a little suprised you paid full money. The 225 is widely available with a good £2k off. It even made Autocar this week re the discounts from dealers. This is for UK main dealer cars, unregistered etc.
Drive the deal is quoting £2,700 off - UK car etc
I was going to try and change...
Omar
Did you get a good price for the 225 ? Or did they overallow on the Clio ?
Thinking of making the move myself. Cost to change is the main thing
Jonathan
What is the Motorpoint price ? and does that include the alarm ? By the time you have bought the car with a 3 year warranty whats the price ?
Bear in mind you can buy a std 182 from a dealer for less than 13k, so my guess is your probably looking at a 1k difference to make up.
Jonathan
You really should be looking at the price to change, not how much Motorpoint will give you for the car. A main dealer might charge you more for a car, butgive you a better PX.
Another point to consider is that a Motorpoint car will not have the Cup bits, which are essential for resale, plus...
Im lucky enough to own a 182, cup suspension, etc. I love the car, but the driveingtales on here do my head in. My car cant keep up with a scooby as much as I wish, an R32, scooby is a better car etc.
I love my 182 for what it is, a run of the mill hot hatch -damn good one at that.
Why...
Picked up my copy of this weeks Autocar. Nice to read the 0-100-0 challenge.
Two Renaults feature, 182 and 225 vs 147, Type R and 206 GTI 180.
60 100 0
GTA 5.69 14.10 18.76
225 6.03 15.45 20.19
TyR 6.76 16.02 20.93
182 6.73 17.01...
My 182 seems to be the same as the one you drove. Not a lot below 5000rpm. Only feels really lively in the wet when accelerating hard in the lower gears.
You can pick up UK main dealer brand new Scoobies for under 19k. Six month old cars are nearer to 17k.
The megane does seem a little on the high side, but it depends on the discount you can get ?
I might consider one as well.
Jonathan
Went for Racing Blue. Not the nicest Blue on the market today but, black is a real pain in the backside and silver will devalue the car -( not a diss at silver cars, but there are too many of them and the trade is paying less for them now from what Ive heard)
Renault could show a little more...
