Sing along now Things can only get better.....
lol
errr, surely theyll still sell Renaults?
I want to remove the top bit of the dash which surrounds the airvents, centre display etc in order to screw a phone bracket on. How does it come off?
TIA
thanks for the info edde.
If its standard OBD II compliant, has nobody had a tinker with any 3rd party tools like http://www.obd-2.com/http://www.obd-2.com/ or http://www.scantool.net/http://www.scantool.net/ ???
Any of you techie types figured out where the obd connector is and has anybody talked to the brains yet? Ive used Vag Com from http://www.ross-tech.comwww.ross-tech.com in the past and it was great. Was thinking that if I could recode the passenger window for one touch, clear error codes, etc...
Picking up my 182 next month and I want to remove the rear badges. Its just something thats a bit of a pet hate and since the advent of the wordy processor Ive always thought underlining was naff :)
Do they just pull straight off without leaving any holes?
TIA
PS Can i swap the side badges...
well its a french car so its bound to be built poorly and start falling apart before its 1st birthday. But hey, youve owned a few so I guess you know that already ;)
If you want a quality reliable car then buy something built by the Germans or the Japs. Im thirtysomething and Ive never owned a...
so you want a 172 and youve got no money?
You need to work harder and save up those pennies young man!!!
And then just maybe youll have the cash to buy a 182 outright in a couple of years time!
:D
had a test drive today - quite a spunky little fella!
Preferred it to the Civic Type R except for the gearchange.
Anyway one thing that annoyed me was the lack of one touch electric windows - blimey, what year are we in here? Is this easy to sort?
Reckon those spoilers are a waste of money...
RapidClio, you cant get cup suspension and non-cup wheels! The anthracite wheels is the best looking part of the car! Im off to Thailand on saturday for a week but you can borrow my Focus! lol.
PM me your whereabouts, etc...
very true, as long as youre happy and enjoying your motoring thats the main thing!
By the way both those motors I mentioned were brand new imports!!! I also only lost £500 on a brand new Toledo V5 after 18 months when the Mrs smashed it up. Man i used to absolutely love imports!!!
But yeah...
Lee
i once bought an STI from Japan and made £3k when I sold it 6 months later. I saved over £10k on this car! Ive lost £1k on a Leon 20VT that I ran for 18months and 18k miles. So perhaps Ive had even more luck than you Lee ;)
I also pay cash for my cars. I used to enjoy buying imports but...
i think youre trying to kid us again Jon. ;) Aftermarket products devalue the car 9 times out of 10 and most people end up trading in a motor because thats the easiest way to go. I nearly bought a second hand 172 privately last year cos its value was massively reduced being a grey....
To most...
Good advice D-CUP.
You guys are having a laff buying a grey when theres only a grand to be saved! Ive had four (non Renault) import cars from as far away as Japan; also Ireland and Holland. The point about saving big bucks on an import is you go direct to the foreign dealer yourself and cut...
best Ive had is 12,700 from a dealer with cup and metallic.
This is a pre-reg (ie. youre the 2nd owner) which is what youll get from a broker probably including ukcarbroker.co.uk
If we can get together for 3 or 4 cars, we can probably get that sort of price or less for metallic, cup...
Id be interested in a group buy from a proper Renault dealer! Anyone else?
The best deals seem to be on pre-reg cars ie. dealer is 1st owner. If we could get a group buy for 3 or 4 cars we could probably get the same deal but as 1st owner.
Any takers????
well good on them for doing 3 years. But this sounds slightly weird to me because EU law states that the manufacturer MUST provide the first 2 years of warranty! Sounds to me like Renault have done a dodgy deal with the dealers, lol
JonC, I dont think that warranty stuff is true. For a couple of years now the following has been true
"All EU sourced cars now come with a minimum of two years Pan-European Manufacturers Warranty. Cars supplied with a 3 year manufacturers warranty are covered across the whole of the EU during...
go for dealer.
Grey import is only worth it if you save about a 1/3 off list in my experience.....
Youll need a 3rd party alarm system as well probably. Cars are so complicated nowadays, the last thing you want is somebody fecking up your electrics and invalidating your warranty....
