Sounds like you need the key repaired or a new key programmed. The solder on the transponder has probably come loose.
I may be able to suggest someone depending on where you are in the country, drop me a PM with your general location.
You need to get the remotes tested. Just because the led is lighting up, dowsn't mean the remote is putting out a signal.
If they are putting out a signal then it may be your central locking receiver or wiring at fault.
The immo light staying off could be something as simple as a blown bulb.
The remote is an odd one.
By what your saying it seems like both the central locking box and remote are communicating just fine when your trying the resync procedure.
After you press the button and the resync cycles...
^That is the resync procedure for a remote mforan2012. You have cracked one of the solder joints for the on board transponder alex-avfc. Hence why it was working intermittently at first. You just need an auto locksmith to resolder the joints. I may be able to suggest someone if you PM me...
Undo the steering wheel trim and you'll see the transponder ring around the ignition.
Trace the wires from that ring back through the car, the box it comes to will be the immobiliser. Should have make/model and serial number on there.
You need to have the central locking working, there is no simple way to turn the immo off.
Take out the central locking receiver located near the sun roof and give the circuit board a good clean up with a toothbrush and PCB cleaner.
If that fails then just buy a new receiver and key from...
Not if he desolders the eeprom and virginises the file he won't.
There's also other uses for that particular immobiliser. Spare parts on the board, soldering practice, pin code extraction practice, algorithm development...
Hey guys I need to remove the immobiliser from a Mk2 Ph1 Clio (I'm breaking the car so am just looking to take the part out).
Has anyone written a guide to do this on the forum?
If not can someone please help me out with the location and instructions on removal please.
Cheers!
James.
Hey guys,
I'm James, am from London and work as night security.
I've got a little day time hobby though of buying old cars and breaking them to sell for parts. This is due to having a nice big gravel car park at my disposal (good old dad ;)).
My very first car was a Mk1 clio and I'm currently...
