Hello! I'm baffled with this problem now. A bit of a history: some time ago our 172 developed a clunking noise when steering. I haven't had time to deal with it myself and drove the car to a workshop who diagnosed that steering rack had to be rebuilt. They've sent out the rack for refurbishing...

MOT had expired while the car was in a workshop. Got everything ready for inspection today but haven't managed to update registration with the new color, will have to wait until Wednesday to make it legal to drive around. Due to this I also couldn't drive to a car wash, so took photos as the car...
