Took car to garage today got it on a ramp and it is the carbon canister that's tapping you can hear it and also feel it thanks for all you replys guys

When you rev yours does its get faster with revs then when you let of stop for a bit then starts again

Cheers for that mate will have a propper look but sounds like its that tbh well hope it is lol

That's what I'm trying to find out or can you unplug it what mine does is when it's warm it's starts ticking when I rev it gets faster then stops then after a few seconds it starts again

How could I tell of it was carbon canister is there anyway I can check I've listend in engine bay can't really here it but if I put my ear to drivers head light I can here it

Tbh mate I can only really hear it in the car struggle to hear it in engine bay but it gets faster with the revs it's had oil and filter change today so god knows what it is

Cheers mate just been and had a look and it the interior light were the buzzing is coming from have to find out how to solve it lol

Hi all I've got a clio sport 172 and there is a weird buzzing ticking sound coming from behind the glove box / dash and is really annoying anyone no what this is only had car a week and I'm having alsorts of problems with it cheers

Right I've been out to the car it dosent tap rattle or knock from cold drive to work by the time I got to work it started anyway it tapps right up to 3,000 revs then can't here it and then it stops tapping for a few seconds then starts tapping again so really don't have a clue what it is its off...

Also is there a way you can find out if it it defo the dephaser thanks for your replays guys

Would it make it tap though mate and its going back and getting fresh oil just hope it's no damaged the engine

It's got 5w30 in it mate and no didn't notice it before change

would it tap if it had wrong oil in dont think the garage have put right oil in

its fine when cold mate just when warm

its not oil mate its had a oil and filter change yesterday as ive have the rear main oil seal replaced

thanks for reply mate when the car is revved high you cant really hear it mainly on tick over if it is the dephaser can the car not be used does it need changing asap

hi all ive recently brought a Clio sport 172 anyway today its started to tap/knock on tick over and when you rev it the tapping knocking gets faster but not as loud does anyone have ant idea what this could be ive read that it could be the dephasor the car has recently had a cambelt and pullys...

Hi all I have a clio 172 and the tube that the dipstick goes in to is loose we're it goes into the block are these tube hard to replace any help would be appreciated thanks
