I dunno about skimping, Im paying half the price for a service from a proper chain of garages that will use genuine renault parts and from the listing seems more comprehensive than renaults own.
Sod the resale, I am NOT paying 250 quid for an oil change.
Isnt it 4.75 litres for an oil and filter change?
Often its not worth supplying your own as they can get it cheaper than you, unless youre going for a specialist oil.
Well Ive just rung the Nationwide Centre in Rugby, very friendly chap quoted me 114.99 to use renault filters and semi-synth. So Im booked in there. Their 12k full service looks more comprehensive than the Renault schedule states, so thats good too.
Im certainly not paying 250 quid for something I could do myself in half an hour.
Does anyone know what Renault are like, if I take it to an independent accredited garage?
Renault dealer in Rugby wants £240-£250 quid for a first service on a 172.
Thats ridiculous for just changing the oil and filter and checking a few fluid levels.
There must be somewhere cheaper, even at a main dealer, or is this the average these days?
Hi chaps, its 1st service time coming up and Id like to find a good independent place in or around Rugby or Cov. I thought these days as long as renault parts were used the warranty/service record was still valid?
Ive posted here to try and get a wider audience.
Lowering a certain amount is one thing, but it does look sh1te when its so low you cant see the top half of the rear wheels - just looks like the suspension is broke.
I think the main thing is not necessarily that a 172 is imported from France, I mean they all are in the end, one way or another. I think it depends more on what country they were intended to go to. Mine is an import but as far as I know it was destined for the UK anyway, so it has everything...
I know what you mean. I was at the tyre place on saturday getting my contis fitted, 205/45/16s, and they were lying next to an Avon 205/45/16 and the Avon did look that little bit wider, maybe due to the fact the contis have rim protectors.
Well pleased with the contis tho, wouldnt...
Exactly - the Golf may the better all-round package but on pure performance and handling criteria the 182 would be better. So, on a purely best hot-hatch basis, the 182 would win, cheaper, quicker, great levels of kit.
I would not pay 20k for a medium-sized hatch of any description, for 20k I...
Eh? The width of the two tyres should be same, barring minor manufacturer differences -.they are both 205mm wide.
However, the sidewall, the distance between the edge of the wheel and the edge of the tyre will be different, as the first will be 45% of 205, and the second only 40% of 205...
To cut a long story short tomorrow on my 172Mk2 Im going to put 205/45/16s on the back but keep my 195/45s on the front for now.
The difference is only .9mph at 60 but do you think it will trigger the ABS or TC at high speed?
Also I reckon I might get a bit more understeer as the...
