Sounds like Dephaser needs doing on my shed... its idling like a tw*t....
I've found a link for Dephaser (new) on ebay - should be alright to stick on rollers..???? If y'all think its a problem I wont put my name down - can always come to another next year :D
Nick
I've never felt flatspots after doing de-cat on Clio 172.
True test would be on Rolling Road, but if you're getting the remap it'll improve torque across rev range. I'm just doing some reading on the RS Tuner work - the OBD fault code is good feature!
I've removed cat(s) from plenty Clio 2.0 Sport and never seen a running problem afterward.
This will probably throw up a 'new' debate with men swinging their 'girth' and saying I'm wrong but hey ho. I 100% haven't seen a problem from removing cat and welding in 2 1/4" pipe :-)
I'm reading up...
Hello Knuckles.
I dont get notifications from threads on this forum (haven't learnt how to use the functions yet). I am from everywhere and nowhere. Currently residing in a small town called Lowestoft. England's most Easterly Town!
10 minute walk to the beach. Full of héroin addicts and...
Cheers buddy, I'm gonna remove the limiter.
Would you run 95ron or 99ron in this engine? I am on 95ron at the minute - if you all definitely reccomend 99 V Power I will start using that!
Thanks :)
My coolant temp sensor is a bit wánk anyway so I will change the stat and the temp sensor! Did crank sensor (blue newer one) and just didi plugs/air filter.... needs speedo sensor and some other nonsense but I spend and spend on cars. Only just purchased so I will change everything now, so I...
Thanks Chip-mk1
I come from BMW background but have a general understanding of most engines... I can see why Renault put these limiters in place. I know on the M3/M5 they have a simliar protection, so I might leave it in place (as you mentioned cracking block etc...).
I'm not one to thrash a...
Send me your original if you dont mind. There might be the same 16 x 16 in yours, you might be able to shed some light.
Also. The first Rev Limit you increased is for 'low temp' or when in 'safe mode' ??? Cheers :D
There is no 'torque limiter' map in a Clio 172.
I was generalising buddy. Just as there is no 'boost map'. I understand the Siemens Sirius ECU - but thanks :)
There is a discussion about the temp/rev limit I'm trying to find. Saw it yesterday, but you probably know more about this Chip-mk1...
Wowzers.... I didn't think about buying a clio.
I saw an advert on ebay. Messaged the guy. Drove to Wigan. Gave him money. Drove off..... At the end of the day its just a car. With all second hand cars there is some risk - so its better to get a good deal and drive away.
And I like...
I know Rolling Road garages who 'fettle' the final result. Which I dont like at all.
Customers should see exactly what their car is running - better to see it running less, and continue tuning, than to write one basic mod file and not make further adjustments.
I wouldn't say he's dodgy - I've...
Denso Plugs, Bosch Air Filter, Crank Sensor, learnt about rev limit (in another topic) so I'll do some studying tomorrow on the old piece of poo.
I drove it to the Burger Van, and took a customers car to Asda for shopping :)
A bad lambda sensor wont cause problems above 5000RPM at WOT....
Lambda is only used to calculate at idle and some part throttle. It goes into 'closed loop' whenever the throttle is pressed hard. Hopefully he got it sorted. Nickjchelm get yours on a diagnostic as soon as you can.
Fault codes...
Thank you! Now I know why there are 3 rev limiters in this ECU!
The lower one is temperature dependant, and other two (2nd could be first gear as somebody suggests). 3rd rev limit could be for all other gears.
I will do some research tomorrow. Or now! Cheers :)
