The ones with the torx head are a newer design im sure, had this at work before that when you order new pins they can be different from the original as they updated them. Means your door must have been off in the past for some reason, wouldnt worry about it aslong as they open, shut and line up...
Wouldnt use tiger seal, unless you never plan on taking them off again - better using foam mounting tape, you get rolls of the stuff specifically for mouldings, badges, rubbers etc. If you clean both surfaces thoroughly and heat it its really strong stuff but can be removed alot easier than...
I can get you part worn 195 50 15 Yokohama Advan A048s from the Mini Cup cars, tread and prices vary quite alot though - some sets ive had before have been at 4mm+ others just on the markers, but still good for trackdays
Halfords aerosols aren't very high build, you can get Upol high 5 in Halfords which although is more expensive it'll fill far deeper marks and save you in the long run
Spray silicone grease into the rubbers, they may have just dried out causing too much friction. When the car's turned off its not getting as much power as when running obviously so if the windows getting stuck in the rubbers itll just cut out before it overloads the motor. Worth trying before...
Put a couple up in my newbies thread!
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?650862-Hello-from-Edinburgh!
Haven't really done anything to it other than fixing small bits and pieces and tidying it up a bit, enjoying it though!
My washer pumps have given up on me! Took the scuttle etc off and unplugged the pumps to check im getting power, the one for the headlight washers is getting power but not working, the windscreen washers gets no power and the pump doesn't work either. One is full of water but neither work when...
Dont need a sander, if its painted and in good condition you dont even need sand paper, can just use a scotch pad. However alot of bodyshops might not touch something you've prepped, worth checking before potentially wasting your time!
Hes saying 300 is alot, compared to the £40 a wheel they charge
Ive refurbished loads of wheels for between £100 and £200 depending on what the owners after and the condition, but im in Edinburgh so bit of a trek!!
What kind of engineering or fabricating place would struggle to take some seats out a clio?! Its not a big job and you're better going and asking rather than just dismissing. Even if they cant help they might know someone that could
Just do them 1 by 1 pulling it out gently as you go, shouldn't be too difficult! If you're struggling get an extra pair of hands and push all 3 in at the same time
I ran 225 fronts and 215 rears on my Civic, didn't really notice any difference to 215s all round. Was more to get power down than for handling though!
With something like that you need to drill the end of the cracks to stop it spreading and personally id make a metal plate for the inside and rivet it on, countersinking the rivets, that way its solid and not likely to break again! Then fibreglass over it to smooth it all out, then repair and...
Simoniz is the 2nd worst paint ive ever used, only Hammerite spray beats it in the s**t league!!
I get my paint from a local bodyshop supplies, its £12 for a spray tin but worth it for good quality paint and a decent nozzle on the can! As said above some motor factors can mix up paint, halfords...
You would need to paint all the shuts so any trims and rubbers around them need stripped, need to strip all around the windows to cut them out, also if you're doing a "proper" full colour change you'd want to dust over parts of the inside but that's an extreme case! Id agree if you want a top...
Obviously i washed the outsides, my point was that you dont have to worry about powdercoat as much as paint and that after a year mine came up as good as new even without a sealant or whatever on them
Not all of us have the time or willing to clean inside of their wheels every week, the fact...
