I'll take 1k for it as a whole if anyones interested. 102,000, Taxed till Dec, MOT till end of next month with no known issues other than airbag light on (Mick at diamond did it last time for 20 quid) or just unplug the module. I've outlined the bodywork issues in this thread - overall it's...
It is lightly modified, hence my intention of breaking If I can't get back the value of the parts selling as a whole - Motordrive buckets with x-low subframes, AP coilovers, PMS shifter, home-made intake. It would make a great track car for someone who isn't bothered about what it looks like...
See this is my predicament, I've still not taken it to a bodyshop to have it repaired, so the wing is still a mis-match. The timing is out (well, I presume it is as I found tipex on the pulleys, although it doesn't feel any slower than my brother's cup), the wheels need refurbishing. Still think...
Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg
Looking good mate. How was the coke for stripping crap off? Work well?
Not much gone on with this recently, just keeping on top of servicing and keeping it clean etc, Nothing exciting. My insurance have finally settled my claim and I've just sent off the quote from the bodyshop for confirmation so hopefully in the next couple of months it will be back to good as...
Mine failed on the exact same things, airbag and serv light on, aftermarket non-airbag wheel fitted.
I had to refit the standard wheel and turn the airbag light off to pass. Bucket seat was put down as an advisory.
£350 for all that? I would expect genuine parts alone to exceed £490 which indicates he did not use the correct Renault timing tools either. Could be any number of things - timing out, coil pack, injector. If you're not sure about diagnosing them yourself, just take it to a specialist.
Most of my stuff is budget, but produces a half decent finish. I can't bring myself to spend big money on cleaning products when the cars bodywork isn't perfect!
As has been said above, make sure you've got your wash/ dry method bob on before you go correcting the paintwork, you'll only be...
I tried to get hold of one for a Phase 1 a while back from Renault, they told me the parts are now obsolete. Can't even get CV joints. Went to Euro Car Parts and got a genuine re-manufactured part on exchange.

Are most of these still around? May need updating for people that have scrapped them, I've seen at least one on this list that has gone!
The most basic way I can think of explaining it is power is the amount of work the engine completes in a given time frame. Torque is the rotational turning force at the crank.
Generally, more torque = more power. However, you can generate more power from the same amount of torque by spinning...
Sorry, forgot to reply to this! These ones mate, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Holts-Car-Spray-Paint-Renault-Flame-Red-x-3-cans-B76-LRT54-/171215918509?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item27dd4395ad
Don't get me wrong, it ain't perfect but for 16 quid delivered (about 1/2 price of same...
Thanks for the all the kind words :)
It's a Cobra x-low mount, I've nicked a pic I found on google here, it's the tab with the bolt through it.
Thanks mate, took a good two weeks to get it to an acceptable standard. It's my Dad's Lotus Elan +2 Project, awaiting his retirement to get it...
Been due an update for some time, cars had a few bits and bobs done;
Paint corrected
Brakes
Driveshafts
Exhaust mounts
Engine mounts (going to have to replace again with vibratechnics as they're knocking again after no time at all)
Geometry setup (Tracking/ camber/ ride height)
Rainsport 3's...
Bought my Ph1 Flamer whilst drunk on Ebay for a laugh around a year ago. Was expecting it to be horrendously unreliable and break every weekend.
10k miles in, other than consumables it's never gone wrong. Who said french cars are unreliable? Coming from VAG/ BMW I'm pleasantly surprised :)
You can paint it with rattle cans - as long as you take your time. The only issue you'll come across really is that the colour match is very much down to whoevers mixed it; if it's matey in Halfrauds who doesn't care too much then you'll probably end up with a bad match. Even if you get it...
Surely you can tell if it's got primer on it or not...? If it has got primer on it, then you are putting it on way too thick. If it's not got primer on it, you'll need to rub it back and start again.
