We put the fault reader on it at a local services. I found somebody who spoke vague English.
Fault reader showed no fault, however the light was off at the time.
I'm currently doing the Mongol Rally in a '03 Clio Dynamique 1.2 16V
This fault light comes on
The symptoms are the car loses all power, as if there is no accelerator. However engine off for 10 secs, and the restart the engine and the car will be fine for a while. Then maybe a couple of...
You're the lad that emailed me a month or so ago, from near Glasgow.
I'm also doing it this year, in a silver 1.2 Clio.
My main concern is the cars lack of power and economy with the roof box on. Test drove the car with Rally load weight, and roofbox on from Glasgow down to my work in Wales...
I don't know much about Clios as cars.
I've an '03 1.2 Dynamique, with 66k on the clock.
I'm a VAG man myself, I know little about Clios and their particulars, to use Hayes manual terms I'm at best a 3 spanner mechanic. I'm looking on advice on what tips on things to check for the 12k mile...
I got it on. Modified a bit of old 30mm square bar and gave it a coat of hammerite. Fits fine.
Problem was the length of the Thule 760, the kit I was sent was for a 5 door, not a 3 door.
Looking at your pics I am doing it right. I think I've found the problem the 760 kit isn't long enough (I assume it is for a 5 door), it's a 760/761 bar I need for front and back. The 761 is 43/4" bigger which would explain.
Got to love websites that have the wrong info printed on them when...
This is the thing, I do that but.... the roof bar doesn't seem long enough, it does state on the box it's for a clio 3 door, it seems short by 4-5".
It's definitely a 760 bar kit, it's printed on the bar itself it's a 760
I've got the correct kit
Thule 1119 fitting kit for 3 door
Thule 754 base mounts
Thule 760 roof bars
The front one is pretty straight forward fitted easily, however the thule instructions for fitting the rear mount 262 to a 3 door is not very clear at all.
Can somebody explain to me where/how...
I currently have:
10-24mm Tamron
18-50mm F2.8 Sigma
24mm Nikon Prime
70-300mm Nikon VR (FX Lens so about what, 105-400mm roughly on my D90)
Now I could be doing with a universal lens, that selection is fine when I'm actually going about with my rucksack wanting to take photos, but.... useless...
Car has a leaky sunroof, and was sitting outside as I was working away from home the last month. I was mid repair for the sunroof, however, the bit of polythene duck taped down has blown away, thus leaving a loose (and very leaky) sunroof sitting in the hole.
Anyway have returned to slightly...
D90, Sigma f2.8 18-50mm, no filter. will be about f/8 and exposure somewhere around the 60 second mark. I'm working away from home just now so don't have the original photos (on my desktop), so been plucking these off facebook, otherwise I'd tell you the exact settings from the meta.
Frosty...
I've got a silver '03 Dynamique.
I'm doing the Mongol Rally later this year & have 1 chief sponsor.
Anyway, does anyone know where I can get decal kits for the Clio? I'd perhaps like to customise the kits, to show my sponsors name instead or 'renault sport' or 'Clio'.
Alternatively, does...
The car is for doing the Mongol Rally in bud, as well as being a cheap run around for my wife for 2-3mths.
Not wanting to get modding it. Want it as simple and as stock as possible so when it breaks down it's as easy to fix/source parts as possible.
It was jacked up, no play on either wheel. Even so, what is the chances of 2 wheel bearings going on both tyres and giving identical wear patterns.
I need to get it up a ramp to see under it and know exactly what is wrong.
Worst case scenario, bent rear beam.
Would this fit an 03 1.2...
Just had the car not too long.
Took one of the rear wheels today and noticed wear is a lot more on the inside than outside, and on further inspection this appears to be happening both sides. The near side rear also appears to be rubbing against the wing lining when turning left with any speed...
yeah its a standard iso plug on both cars, then a convertor lead to the stereo plug. on the stereo plug I am getting 14v on both cars.
When I switch it on a relay clicks in the clio somewhere, but the stereo doesn't come on. I am still getting 14v across the plug (I can get a connection via the...
I cannot work this out.
I bought a cheapish stereo with an SD slot, to replace the Clio's stock stereo as the clio is just a run around and I never use CD's, only MP3 CD's and SD cards.
The stereo definitely works as I checked it in another vehicle.
I am getting 14v across the + an - on the...
Other than that it's a very decent little car. Got it for £1k, so hardly expensive even if it does need a couple of new shocks. Doing a google they aren't particularly expensive new.
The other thing I'd maybe describe the sensation of driving it, is it feels like I'm driving on a gusty day and the car is being blown about a bit, despite it being good weather.
I know the ball joints were replaced 10k miles ago as I have a receipt in the service book for them. Theres no knocks or what coming from the suspension.
TBH the rear shock seems a likely culprit that would make most sense.
It's right corners more than left. I feel a lot more stable turning left than right on b-roads. On motorways, both left and right don't feel great.
The car does often feel like the back end is wanting to step out, but I'm not going fast. It doesn't inspire confidence to go fast as I wouldn't...
I recently have bought an '03 plate 1.2 Dynamique with 63k on the clock for a run around for the missus, and as a car to do the Mongol Rally in later this year.
I'm completely new to Renaults, and tbh don't really know all that much about them. I bought this with doing very little research into...
