Seems that there is a few South African guys on this site. Viceroy is also RSA.
We should all get together, or join up at an event or something?
RobFenn, you also South African? What is a Orbisound Exhaust?
The weekend I went down to the lowveld (low altitude)to attend a 21st bday party.
The clio is one mean mother when the altitude is right. I could not believe how much power it gains. It really feals like I did a turbo conversion on it or something. Even when loaded two up with luggage she was...
Not bad at all. Sorry I could not make it.
114Bhp comes down to +-81kW on the wheels, +-95kW on the wheels at the coast and +-117kW on the flywheel at the coast.
That means that we lose +-7kW by using 93Ron.
I would like to see you reading after all your mods.
On Autotrader they vary from 1450 for a 93 1.8 to 7500 94-96 2.0.
There is even one for 13995 95 with 14k on the clock.
Does anyone know of a good import export company?
Question for all the Willy experts out there.
I am planning to buy and import a willy to South Africa.
What is a good price to pay for a willy in good nick with low mileage??
Any tips on what to look out for when buying?
Robin....we should be rather close, depending on the weight as you said. All I know is that my 17" are much heavier than my 15".
The problem I had at Tarlton is that I went to 4th gear before the 400m and at Westbank I stayed in 3rd all the way.
Logically you should be faster. You have more...
195-45-16 = 582mm =22.91 inches Diameter
205-45-16 = 591mm =23.26 inches Diameter
they are a little bit bigger but should not make to much of a difference.
195-50-15 = 576mm =22.68inches
205-40-17 = 596mm =23.46inches
For those who wanted to know.
Sounds like a good idea. Will check with the wife an let you know.
Would be good to see what power lies beneath.
What do you do with the sensors on the cat back if you remove the cat?

Why would a company like Renault with high performance engines in their sport models make you run-in a car in incorrectly????
They designed, build and tested these engines extensively, and would know what the best run-in method is. So do whatever you want...
Not above 3500rpm for the first 625miles. After that slowly increase rpms over the next 625miles. After that you can whack it all day long. Renault also states that full performance can only be expected after 2500miles(from new).
We should do that, maybe meet up at Westbank one Sunday, and then take it from there. We should also get all other clio owners that attend these meetings to join and maybe make our own little club.
With the 15" I plan to warm them up properly, a feel to sorry for my 17".
R1700 is not bad. I...
AP22 should be lekker fun. Then one can at least get a better idea of what the car can do.How much did that set you back in rands? How did you join the cliosport club? Paypal does not support SA.
I am still having trouble getting the power down. Maybe I should try the tire warm up spin thing...
I also use CKM. I bought my 172 from them and they gave me a good trade-in on my 1.6 Dynamique. R4000 above trade.
I used to be at Northcliff, but switched after I bought my 172. CKM is better.
Where do you live? I live in Wilgeheuwel close to the ball and bucket.
nosh...Try getting your...
Dont you guys do a study of a car before buying? I knew every little detail and feature of my Dynamique 1.6 and 172 even before I got the car. No manual needed. :)
That is excellent!! How did your tyres hold up? What was the best speed of the day?
I only did a 192km/h, but I was never flat out all the way. I backed off before the second banked corner each time. Coming out of the first corner I was doing 200+ but the second corners got a nasty bump half...
