my missus has a beetle 2.0l
nice to drive, but handles like a wheelchair on ice, and certainly aren't fast!
my 1.6 clio gives it a run for it's money, never mind a 182!
Hi guys,
I'm thinking of selling my clio :( - it's served me well as my first car for 4 years now, but time to upgrade.
I put it on ebay a few weeks back, but unfortunately it didn't sell.
i'm wondering what i should be looking for it.
here's the ebay listing with pics and spec...
not sure on 8's to be honest mate.
spacers is a no-no as this will only put the wheels further out that they already will be and will end up sticking out of the arch or rubbing on the arch when turning.
you will probably get away with it, but a trial fit is the only way i'd say.
They will fit pretty much any car with a 4x100 PCD - so thats 4stud honda, 4stud VW, other renault - will not fit ford, or citroen and obviously wont fit 5stud.
As Edde has said the only problem is the centre bore. it wouldn't be a problem if they were aftermarket ones as the manufacturer can...
last i knew it was around £45 + VAT on average.
i'm curious as to why they need rolling though...i had 17's on mine with a 40mm drop and (only just!) rubbed when i had 3 in the back!
not sure what size your after, but have your tried valuetyres.co.uk ?
they have garages all around the UK. you buy through the website, arrange a time for fitting etc, and then they deliver your tyre to the local garage.
normally pretty cheap too!
i've done that twice! you weren't trying to get the passenger wiper off were you by any chance!?
as above, don't fit a second hand one!
have you checked with your insurance how much it would be to upgrade your premium to fully comp... it may be cheaper than forking out for a new screen...
thanks, not quite sure if i want to pay 100 notes though.... :(
do they fit straight in to the original dash mounts and surround, as i know the dash top on the later models is styled slightly differently, and not sure if there's a difference in size?
Hi guys,
quick question, i have the chance of some 2000> (ph2?) dials.
Will these be able to go into my 98 (ph1?) model without any problems?
IMO they look much better, and would love to do this conversion.
Also, would the mileage transfer over to the new clocks or are the details stored...
thanks for all the help guys... i haven't had chance to take a look at it yet (her indoors has had me shopping all damn weekend!)
at least i have a few things to work on now.
i tried it earlier and it does seem a little better (the fault seems intermittent at the moment) i think it is deffo...
it's not idling high... but it does sometimes have a spell when at idle it nearly stalls - it reduces revs until near stall then revs back up again, then drops, risese...and will do this until i drive off (say if i'm at traffic lights etc)
seems everything is pointing to fuelling wouldn't you...
ok, my initial thought was fuelling... so i'll get it checked out...is it possible i could have a dodgey injector? or is it a bit vague to say that?
when i pulled the HT leads one by one, nothing happened. it still ran just the same (poorly)
Hi guys,
could really do with a bit of help on this one.
My clio is a 1998 1.6 8v RXE model.
I was driving to work yesterday and it just seemed to lose 90% of it's power.
i put my foot down and it just wasn't going anywhere, and seemed to be really struggling to gain any power and revs...
i had mine in the top corner of the windscreen (drivers side) - in the bit that the wiper misses as it sweeps.
looked great IMO, but just had to have a new windscreen so need another.
i also removed the 'www.' part of it, so it was slightly personalised. lol
Hi,
I am looking to put a standard head unit back in my clio (going to sell soon).
i haven't got my oringinal unit, so have bought one of ebay.
The unit i have bought is from a newer clio (2001 if i remember correctly) and mine is a '98 (mk2 ph1).
The problem i'm having is that the new...
Hi guys,
I have just got myself a Renault head unit (22DC258/62B) which i believe to be a Phillips VDO.
It has the cd changer plug and is one of the 'tuner list' units.
The head unit came out of a 2001 clio.
i am now trying to find a cd changer to go along with it.
I've found...
thats what i thought, ... i just wasn't sure if there was any changes in wiring/connectors for the stalk and dash display from the Mk2 Ph1 and mk2 Ph2/3
edit: sorry, i have just noticed that i said i have a mk2 ph2 in the original post... it's actually a ph1 (sorry, it's late! )
Hi guys,
I'm soon to be selling my clio, and would like to put it back to standard (well, as much as possible).
i currently have a clarion head unit, and would now like to re-install a standard renault head unit.
My original unit was only a radio casette, but i would now like to install a...
Hi guys,
I have a Mk2 Ph1 1.6 RXE and recently have been having problems with the speedo not working.
Sometimes it will be showing my speed as it should, then it will just die and go back to zero.
then 2 min's later it will jump back up and show the speed i'm doing.
I was just wondering if...
i have a B&M fitted to my 98 1.6.
made a hell of a difference.
at first you will prob find yourself trying to hammer the stick into the different gears, but once your used to it, it's great!
reduced the change loads and everyone that has driven my car with it has said how accurate and firm the...
sounds a good deal that mate.
i have an S plate RXE 3 dr.
was my first car, and i love it to be honest. did try getting rid, but just couldn't... liked it too much.
handles well, got the toys (air con, elec mirrors, sunroof, etc), trip comp.
sporty ride (but quite refined at the same time)...
