Cheers for all the help guys :) turns out to be the plugs. Replaced them all and it runs like a dream again :D

At idle it runs fine its only when i put my foot down to pull away its splutters and stuggles then gets past it and carrys on fine but maybe a bit down on power.

I got my 56 plate 197 for £6750. It had 18500 miles, a years MOT, 6 months tax, climate control, auto wipers/lights, 6 disc cd player and best of all a sunroof! (which i hadnt seen before on a 197).
