hi, probably been nearly 5 years since I've posted.......well after selling my 1.6 clio, think you called in a rsi in the uk nearly 5 years ago and now having sold my mini cooper.....and now driving my wifes old 1 series, have been toying with the idea of looking for a mk1 172 to play around...

hey guys traded in my clio today....end of an era, just 14 days shy of 5 years......what a great car, so many awesome memories. bought another little car - this time one thats made in England.

just a question - if you make a false floor and then bolt it to the new floor, whats stops the floor and sub meeting you by accident ??

it's a girls car that - has a nice black leather / green suede interior now. actually looks good - with "white trash" logo on the head rests and flames on the rear bench....ok, maybe not the flames part.

got the car back - good job, slight paint drip/run right at the bottom of the bumper where it curves in, so no biggie - I'll take a pic later......

ok, car's in today for the bumper to be fixed (at powerflow's expense - the bos was realy cool about the whole thing), they're also gona give it a polish to (hopefully) remove the swirls....... hold thumbs.

the surround was expensive for me...... GBP 15.00 for the part GBP 15.00 for postage (stamp said 4.62!!!!) the R46.00 at the post office (VAT etc - about GBP 3.50)

the guy (manager or something) there admitted to doing it himself.......I just hope the boss feels generous on Monday, real let down.......

went down to poweflow this morning after receiving my 182 exhaust surround from K-Tec last week. Just a backbox was on the menu today.... nice job, apart from the massive gouge in my bumper!! Nice one..... they said they have to confirm with the boss on monday but they will have it...

will always keep an eye out for a good example, love the sound the engine made when I turned the key...... note to self: convince the boss for a car allowance....

had a look, bit of a time a time waster, car was ok, bar the steering wheel, drives side silver insert....had a crappy gear lock thing.....and had a "factory fitted" sunroof......did 172's come with a sunroof ? otherwise good..... however the valued my car for peanuts, even less than book...

oh, just checked renault advertise on their website in south africa a 2 year unlimited km warranty, hope that applies to this one.

thanks guys, they said it has FSH and its just under 90 000 kms, so they will give it the 90K service. just hope its in good knick.....hold thumbs

its at renault, so maybe they will offer some sort of warantee? so Crash repair FSH Cambelt

rare as hens around here, looks like a possible good deal on a 2001 mk1 172, flame red.... what should I look out for when I give it a butchers ? thanks
