It's more than likely the pads mate.
Tonnes of stories from people who commented on their pads breaking up towards the end of last year. Seems there was a bad batch.
I'm not due a renewal though. I have 9 payments with AF until September, so this month is my last payment. Thing is I will lose that years no claims if I go else where, my 4th year too.
And as Jenic said, insurers do use the insurance group system but they also have their own individual 'risk...
Really Jenic?
That's promising. Thing is I got a quote for a 172 cup originally and now will be buying a normal 172. So should i speak to a supervisor and pesture them?

Cheers

Danny and Matt that's great thanks, exactly what I thought was the case.
Happy to be on the search now!
Hi guys.
I've had a good search through the forum as I am wanting to move from my 106 GTI to a 172. I love my GTI to bits but I'm after a more well made car for cruising to work and I'm 22 now so want a less 'boyish' car.
The 106 is such an easy car to work on though however reading...
I'm looking at buying a 172 but never fancied the flame red.
However after seeing this thread my searches for a 172 have now become more specific to a certain colour.....flame red!
Looks awesome.
