    Alternator cable snapped.

I'm no electrician but make sure you buy a heavy enough duty ring terminal. Not sure what amps are drawn through the cable but you don't want a light weight crimp terminal on there. Btw. Our terminal did the same and as a previous post says there are two nuts acting as lock nuts securing the...

    Congrats to DanPl6 on cracking 200bhp (rs2 + 197 cams)

Pingpong, you make a valid point. When I was researching our inlet design a number of factors make up the ideal runner length for example. One of these factors was inlet cam duration. There are lots of other things to consider, some hard to measure/ascertain. I'm not saying that inlet X won't...

    Another entry into 200+ (RS2&197)

Chip. Do the exhausts make much difference? If so, in what part of the rev range? We have 2.5" ktR stealth on ours. Twin box plus a sports cat. Sounds too quiet on track and wonder if it might help our top end revs with the centre box removed.

    Congrats to DanPl6 on cracking 200bhp (rs2 + 197 cams)

Trying to pick the bones out of this thread. LoL We are running 438s and wosner 12.8cr pistons. The high comp comes from the head. It was previously to us skimmed alot. Fred needed a bigger idler pully to take the slack out of the cambelt! Currently making 195@7k at max torque is 162@6k. Will...

    Congrats to DanPl6 on cracking 200bhp (rs2 + 197 cams)

Sorry Mike. Missed your post. We think its running around 13:1. Possibly more. Didn't know how much the head had been skimmed:-S we are toying with E85 conversion so we can get the advance where it should be. Do you think advance will improve output by a great margin?

    Congrats to DanPl6 on cracking 200bhp (rs2 + 197 cams)

Yep. Well, home built is doing it a little injustice to be honest;) laser cut plenum, one off runners mated to jenvey mr23 manifold. 45mm internal runner dia with trumpets to suit.

    Congrats to DanPl6 on cracking 200bhp (rs2 + 197 cams)

Bigger plenum and longer trumpets you say? In parts this thread has been very interesting but I hate slipping through all the unnecessary clutter. Our torque curve drops off at 7k with our inlet. However, not sure if this is partly due to the lack of ignition advance due to very high...

    Trace route query

Correct :) you can change the probe count if you run an extended trace route.

    Steer from the rear

That Cortina overtake was simply hillarious! Car looks like its trying to kill you. Overteer on brakes (backing it in motorbike style) and on power. Enjoyed watching that.

    Russ at Rally School

That's looks really good Russ! Nice driving too; you can tell just by the note of the engine you know exactly when to lift and re-apply the throttle to help pivoting the car. I went to the David Higgins rally school some years back and also managed to "win" the timed final run there:) that was...

newbie with a clio cup race car

We had exactly the same issue on our inlet manifold/plenum as we used a jenvey mr23 to the head. Our head ports are pretty big too. We initially just used a std gasket but it had a very small leak. We still have the o-ring groves so we got some rings from Jevey and they seal fine. However, if...

    Integra DC5 Turbo

That Chip is a bloody good summary of engine design and how certain characteristics limit or create opportunities of power. Also one of the clearest examples of torque/rpm/power. Good post! :)

    Vein's Black 330Ci Sport

Yes. You can do toe and a little bit of camber adjustment. Only needs a little bit of toe in to make the wheel appear to be facing in to the front

    Vein's Black 330Ci Sport

Have you had the alignment done yet? I think the std toe on the rear is 8minutes toe in. To be honest taking pictures from above is a bit unscientific as you only have to move a fraction and you can/can't see the wheel. Are you running spacers?

    HDMI Cables?

If you guys are running a standard scart lead (not component lead) the main difference you will notice is playing stuff in high definition surely? The quality of a particular hdmi cable will be insignificant compared to that change.
  20. Cr33do

    HDMI Cables?

^correct. Why do you think Ethernet copper links have cable length restrictions also. But I agree that nominal length hdmi cables for most tv installs offer equal performance. More to the point has your Tv got a hdmi port? If so how long has it taken you to work out to buy hdmi?

Cisco geeks - Why would I use PVST/PVRST+ over MST?

Yep. That's about it. In the simplest form you may have a few edge switches (or a switch stack comprising of many switches) dual linked back to the core (which is the root bridge) forming a physical loop topology. Imagine you have a data vlan and a voice vlan on the edge. In single spanning...

How does an intake resonator work?

I presume you have been reading the latest edition of EVO magazine? If so, I noticed exactly the same thing. Interesting question. Don't know the answer though:)

My RR at Viezu This Morning

The West Midlands area group have held a couple of RR days here. Might be worth looking at some of the post in the regional section as I'm sure all of the results were published. Just bare in mind it may have been different conditions to your run.

    Tracking done, thoughts on settings?

I reckon you have done ok there. As Chip said it looks pretty even side to side. We have ours set to 0.10 toe out on the front (each side) whereas standard is 0.05 per side. That's only because its mainly used on track. We need to order some pure Motorpsort rear shim to equal out our rear camber.

    2118's 172 Cup - Which colour?

    Hi Comp pistons without remap

Cheers James. Suppose it makes sense thinking about it:)
  28. Cr33do

    Hi Comp pistons without remap

Is the cup racer ECU locked or is it funds (or waste of) that are preventing a remap? If it the later surely you will waste a certain amount of money rebuilding the engine for a second time when you eventually go hi-comp? I havent got a clue about building engines but I would rather get top and...

That's quite a combination of cars you have there! The M3 looks very purposeful with those wheels on it:) Clio looks to have come out well too. Bet you cannot wait to get the new motor in it.
