Its a disgrace and defiles the "Cup" ethos. The 182 "Cup Pack" started the rot IMHO. Renault could have been onto a whole new successful marketing niche if theyd developed the Cup concept and kept it pure. They could do a stripped out, lower wider Megane 225 Cup for example and so on.

Get the Cup. Best hatch in the last 10 years.
I had one before getting the AMG, and believe me I know what car is more fun, and it aint the 350 bhp, 390ft/lb one.
Ok thanks - I m running yokohamas but the pressures are high as i alway run them high and the weathers warmed up so thats why iv started to notice it i suppose ...
I waited the best part of 10 years for a worthy 205 replacemnt to come out and the 172 Cup is definetely it. Go for it.
Cup requires more speed to extract the same fun though as it has more grip and neeeds more provocation to get it sliding. So overall I dont slide every corner like i used to...
I expect this has been done before so apologies in advance, but I d like a definitive answer. I assume they simply lift the 172Cup sups. bits and put them on the 182?
My Cup just gets better and better with the miles, the engine really needs some mileage to loosen up. No reliability or build issues at all.
The car confirms my opinion that the hot hatch genre is the simply the best of all car types.
i recently changd the contis for yokie A539s all round...
....sold out round here but apparently the Cup does well in a test to find the fastest car A to B on a typical UK rural B road. Up against nine others including Noble, 911 turbo, evo, etc.........
Leaving aside all the usual arguments about ABS or not, does anyone here agree with me that the Cup brakes as standard are just not that good for whatever reason?
I find the feel is poor (upgrade to braided hoses?) and that pedal action is awkward with my big feet, and most inportantly...
Yep, the crucial point here is that the S3 driver will be more pissed off than you at the results of the race...even if they eventually get past into 3 figure territory.
The psychopathic line is: why bother? It has a warranty and I will be selling it before thats up any way, it is later owners who will suffer the consequences of excess engine wear.
However Im not entirely psychopathic and was careful for 450 miles then thought f**k...

The Cup is a bit of a Q car, not many roiad users realise its potential, especially not t**ser reps on BMW s etc.
