Just wondering how reliable the new 197. I bought a 172 Mk1 back in 2001 and had it for four years but it broke my heart. The car had so many problems. Belts kept snapping, power steering leaks, starting problems. I am worried if I buy another one I will have the same problems.

Cmon... My mate did not expect his Clio to float everyones boat but everyone here has being so negative.

At the end of the day alot of blood, sweat, tears and not too mention MONEY has gone into this car! Give my mate some credit!!! Look at the car again, look at all those birds drolling over it!!

I dont think you guys like my mates Clio much. Maybe it looks better in the flesh. The girls seem to like it though!

Has anyone had a problem with the speedo on their mk1 172. Mine has just started to act up. Some times it works and then it does not. When it does work its very erratic jumping between 30mph and 120mph. Any ideas as to whats wrong as its bugging the crap out of me........

Please help me! The accelerator pedal on my 172 Mk1 is really sticky! Its difficult to drive the car smoothly. Also my clutch is really heavy. The car has 25.000 miles on the clock. Ive just had both cables changed but it hasent made any difference. I have used a can of wd-40 but to no avail...
