Cams before headwork is a waste of time. Usually the valves and seats are a bit burnt so will lose some compression and it isn't a good idea to open the valves further as the stems will be dragging stuff through the guides. Most Renault heads respond well to good headwork. I have stock cams BTW...
Oh dear. This is why I frequent this site less these days.
Obviously you know more than Ktec then!
For the record, it has a Scorpion exhaust an ITG panel filter fitted by Ktec as part of the deal and some headwork.
Please try and be a little less quick out of the taps next...
Just had my 182 remapped by Ktec and got 190bhp. Better pickup as well as more go. Very pleased as will anyone be who buys it, as it is going up for sale soon!
Don't forget that the dealer will be keen to sell you Gap Insurance and paint/interior protection as he makes a very decent profit on these items......
The Clio is my favourite at the mo' such a laugh. I'll post some pics of the fleet soon.
Insurance is about £800 the lot. Protected no claims. £100x/s. Windscreen cover. Legal cover. Fully comp. See? Being old(er) has its advantages!
Pah! Youngster... Just turned 57 and have a 182 Cup, Alpine GTA turbo, Range Rover 4.6, Lotus Europa TC, Ford F350 pickup, Ford F1 pickup 1948 with SBC 383 hot rodded thing, BMW1150GS bike, Buell, then there's the boat.....
Insurance is very cheap at this age. Ought to reduce the size of the...
If it is that good why only £3999 or offer?
Perhaps he could spend some of the proceeds on some english lessons!
You couldn't pay me to drive that:eek:
If you are vat registered, you as a trader pay vat on your gross profit margin. The vat is not reclaimable by anyone, vat registered or not. Vans are charged the full vat on the sale price.
+1
How fast was the 182 around the Top Gear track? Spend the money on improving you. Get some instruction on a track day - best value for making you faster!
I may well be selling my 182, so I will start to sort out the rest of the "fleet". That is, my Alpine GTA, Lotus Europa twin Cam, Range Rover, 1948 Ford F1 pickup with its 383sbc engine..... then if I sell some of these..... Next year it will be the Maserati 3200GTA or 4200CC.
£50K??? Now it will sell for £3K.... Driven for 50 miles, that's £1K per mile. Or a Clio's worth every 3 miles.... Abusive emails? What do they expect? Not everyone's cup of tea, or in their case not everyone's swimming pool of Bolinger...
I need to have a lay down in a quiet dark room.
I expect it's one of those internet "specials" that you hear about. Revs to 11000, has one of those electric "superchargers" and of course an Ebay chip/resistor that gains 30bhp, chrome knob behing the wheel...etc ad nauseam.
I'm off to tweak my clio to 300 bhp by p*ssing in the petrol tank...
As the car is loaded up the lever is pushed to open the valve and allow more pressure to the brakes. Very common on most fwd cars. They have cable tied it to open the valve and increase the pressure to the brakes. Wouldn't want to be braking hard in the wet in your car as it is that's for sure!
Get hold of VOSA asap. Don't drive the car if you can avoid it. They will then arrange an appeal test. Gawd help the tester, this will be a disciplinary for them! You do need to take action as soon as poss on this - any delays will weaken your case. Good luck. Let us know how you get on. any...
The main problem with bottom pulleys is that they have to be tightened by degrees. Most people try to use a degree wheel, yuk! That is where I reckon the problems start. As for the F4R being so "unique" the ford Zetec cams aren't keyed either... amongst others.
Yes, well. You obviously missed the point. I have modified more cars and bikes than you could count. I was just interested why. And the OP answered my question in a sensible manner. He could teach you a lot.;)
As above. Not knocking you - sound reasoning. Just not my way - that's what makes...
I really wonder at the point of £3K + for a small power increase. OK power delivery is better, nice flat torque curve, but add in cams to the whole thing with all the odds and sods you must be looking over £5K. Given that a 182 is average worth £4K that makes £9K + ?? I would just go and buy a...
OOh sounds good. Oh yes, brands of slippers, latest shades of beige cardigans in BHS, a poll Horlicks v Drinking chocolate, Viagra v cup of tea......;);)
Funny thing is though, as the Rock and Roll generation we still are about 25 in our minds for a lot of things.
Yup, let's have that...
So, the law of the land is that all cars made oafter 1992 have to have a cat. Because you want more noise = perceived power increase, you want MoT tester to pass your non-compliant / illegal car and risk his job/ licence /business??
