Bought an o6' 197 two months ago from garage and since picking it up it has been in with them for a month of this time trying to trace a noise.
There is a gurgling noise behind the dash at passenger side which occurs above 4500 rpm and sounds like a percolating noise.
They have had it in four...
Prob £100 fuel - max
Tax - had 12mnth when I bought it so nothing until July
Insurance - £45 -renewal is £450 next year
that's it unless things need fixing, still having a mortgage to pay means I need to keep costs down, hence why I am thinking of changing for something half insurance and tax...
Re: ***How much is my car worth?***
clio cup 2002 '52' 80k, all service stamps but no receipt if belts done, good condition all round, usual kerbing on alloys. Just got 12month mot on it can't decide whether to keep or sell for cheaper insurance as I only live 5 mile from work
depends what your budget is and where you look, I got a 172 cup Ph2 for £1900 quid, full service history stamped in book and checking it over it is clean and tidy but due to several owners there is no paperwork to say whether timing belt has been changed so I am going to have to get that done...
yeah as I suspected I am gonna have to get a new one fitted, oh well...anyway springs sorted got a set of Koni springs for £105 so if they fit I will be happy with that
yeah its not the spare that they failed me on its the nearside tyre which is in reality fine, I was wondering if I put the 185/55/15 spare I have if it would pass the test, rim size shouldn't matter as long as it is same size but obviously width would be 195 v 185 wondered if that would cause a fail
Think I will go for a full new set then as £120 for a spring or similar for a full set of springs think I will do that....
Also - I slid in ice and damaged the front arm, this was replaced but caused some damage to the alloy which was ground off and tyre checked and re-fit by Hi-Q who said the...
Had a look on europarts and GSF - europarts has one for 2l clio at £55 but doesn't say its for cup and I thought that 172 and 172 cup had different springs in them or is it just a normal 172 spring?
Car has been in for MOT today and failed one of reasons was a fractured offside front coil spring.
Am I right in thinking these are a Renault only part at £120 a piece?
i did mine two days ago, passenger front wheel, huge chunk out of the alloy, piece of metal sticking into the tyre, definite bend on something at the front, think its the steering arm, in the garage now waiting the news, hit a kerb side on at about 10-15mph on way home from work, 1am so luckily...
must be me then, doing a 45 mile round trip to work I only managed 14K in a year in my Fiesta ST. Had the clio just over a month now, changed the speedo sensor, think the front tyres might not be sealed properly as I have to put air in every week. Didn't come with any paperwork but past MOT...
I have just been on the renault garage to put my car in the garage to get the owners manual and it wouldn't recognise my car. So I put in the VIN number and it came back to a personalised plate K***LYF...... did anyone on here ever own a 52 plate cup around Warrington (seems to be where mot's...
I have gone for it just waiting for him to dig paperwork out for it now. I put it in the newbies forum thread but the pictures aren't great cos its a bit dirty. I am going to wash it today as its not raining then have to decide what to do, it is completely standard and tbh I think I want to...
My Freelander was £276 fully comp last year (£31 a month with d/debit charge) for the 172 it goes to £45 a month and I am 28, 7 years NCB, no points. If I take the named driver female off it goes up by about £250 a year!
That is just this year insurance has definitely gone up I have already...
Hello,
I posted earlier about buying my mates clio off him and have decided to go through with it. He is moving in with me so £1k up front and half rent £150 not £300 for 6 months is the deal. see if I can add these pics....just waiting for my cliosport.net sticker now.
Admiral tend to be realy cheap especially if there is a female driver in your household you can put on as a named driver....you dont actually have to let them drive it though i.e. mum/sister/girlfriend
had it out again for a good drive, done just over 50 miles in it and have fallen for it big time. The exhaust isn't blowing looks like the lumpy idle thing and sits on 800 or so rpm fine never looks like stalling, the brakes now the have been used for the first time in 6 weeks are tight and so...
it is from a friend who is moving in with me. he has had it 4 months but thought the ride was too harsh so got himself a 1 series and has had this parked up for a month or two and offered it me cheap due to cheap mates rates as a lodger. I have known him years and he wouldn't sell me a lemon...
I have been offered a 52 plate RS 172 cup for £2000 it has 77k on the clock and the body work is immaculate. it does have the speedo problem i.e. it isn't working intermittently. It does have tax until July next year, not sure of MOT but has a while left I think. IT seems in all round good nick...
