Cheers for the reply Mick.
I suspected the key and took the cover off to take the battery out to go get a new one and the button inside is loose. I dont know if or how that could be related to the immobiliser issues but im thinking first thing to do would be to get the key fixed with a new...
As title says im having some issues with the immobiliser on my 182.
Its happened before when the battery went flat, and the guy from the AA sorted it saying that basically the immobiliser or the ECU really had 'forgotton' the code and it needed re-setting.
After that it was fine up until a...
Managed to get this done. Had to loosen the bottom mount and jack up the gearbox by about an inch to give me the clearance in the end. But new sumps on now and we are running again!! Next stop discs and pads all round.
Thanks again for all the advice.
It seems to be the sprocket and chain that drops down into the sump im struggling to get around. The engine wont lift any higher, i dont know if its on another mount or something else but i dont want to force it.
Finally had chance to do this today (I know, dont ask!) heres where im at;
Top engine mount removed, engine lifted on crane, all bolts out and sump dropped but just cannot wriggle the bar-steward out!!
The engine wont lift up any higher and im fecking freezing now, any ideas chaps??
Was in traffic on way home due to an accident, just about to turn around and go another way when the police waved us through. At the end of that road is a T junction where the accident was. I would normally go left but this way was still blocked so everybody was having to go right where one of...
Evening all.
So basically due to the incompetance of the local police service I now have a cracked sump.
I seem to have two options really,
1. A guy I know has a spare engine, his own ramp and used to work for Renault so should know what hes doing. He wants £100 for the sump off his engine...
Well i bought it. Finally got it insured yesterday and gotta say it might have a couple of imperfections here and there but I LOVE IT!! Ive pretty much skinted myself for the next month or so but im really glad i bought it. :D
Nah i wasnt driving when i was at college, and we had a load of notts lads in our group.
Anyways thanks for the info mate im gonna have to sleep on it and decide what to do tomoz, ill keep ya posted.
Yeah i did a couple years ago, plumbing, didnt get on with it though, now building race engines lol
back to the car though, is it worth it given the info ive just recieved?
Yeah its in brum, you know it?
Its not in bad shape, a couple of scratches and the two front alloys are scuffed but i know a guy who can sort this reasonably cheap. But for the price i really cant complain. Any of you lot want to take an educated guess?
Some of you may have saw in my previous thread that i was after a 182, well i went to have a look at one on saturday and ended up leaving a deposit and im collecting it tommorow!!
Its a black 05 reg 182 with both cup packs 1 previous owner 49000miles on clock just had cambelt done.
Ill...
Nice one. Anyone know exactly whats involved? I.e what needs removing to get to the belts? Iv never really looked under the bonnet of one of theese. I take it its not engine out job? Just wondered as could prob do it myself if its just a case of getting the cam timing right and not too much...
Yeah my first choice was always black. Just googled the others, the yellow and blue are a bit garish for me, the inferno does indeed suck balls it just doesnt look right on a clio, and i would never buy a silver car.
Right im back lol.
Thanks for all the replys.
SteveS_cup you make some good points, like i say ive got to call him on fri to arrange going down so ill interigate him a bit. Are the black ones not so sought after then?
Mobster, hmmm, who are you? lol
Oh good, thanks mate. Its a black 04. The guy says the service history is all there and i asked about the cambelt as i have heard the 04's are about due a change and he said he was 90% sure it was done but couldnt say for sure without checking. But ive gotta ring him again friday to arrange...
Hi guys, i hope this is the right place but im still relatively new to the forum and clios in general.
So im after a clio sport and theres this 182 with both cup packs thats done 71000 miles and has about 10 months MOT. Ive all but set my heart on it and im planning on fetching it at the...
Lol i did wonder why the posts had dissapeared.
Ive seen an 04 182 cup up for sale cheap coz its done 97000 miles, is it worth a shot or would i just be asking for trouble?
cheers
