Considering buying a temporary engine for the car, a Ph1 engine with 197 cams i see people with that spec have achieved around 187bhp. is anyone running these with ITb's and Standalone. Would just like a comparison. anything over 200bhp should suffice.
Looks like i'm gonna be rebuilding the bottom end now (but to standard spec + ARP Bolts and ACL bearings)
197 Valve springs - where is best to get them? just to balance up Cat cams uprated valve springs are £144.00 and supertech ones £119.00
ALD are doing the head in discussions at the moment with Supertech valves. (Clio 182 head)
@TonyHunter that is the sort of spec i'm after and your right it is a cheap spec.
ARP bolts typically something that fails on the Clio i'm not wanting much more than standard Revs, just for easy to...
One more thing i forgot to mention. for the minimal gains/reliability of Forged Rods and Pistons (unless an inherit weak point) i'd rather spend the money on a Gripper diff or ATB diff.
Ok so my car is currently running AT Power ITB's standard cams and OMEX 600 on standard 182 engine (AC & PAS Delete)
I don't want to go silly on the engine as although it is a competition car it is still road legal. seeing as engines are not that expensive (Standard ones) and not a grand sum...
Thanks,
Sorted the issue and now she is running. was the crank sensor plug.
Only issue i've got is i've got an intermittant throttle issue. where it will go into limp mode and hunt around 2500 rpm and only rev upto 3000rpm at WOT. Guess i'm going to have to check the wiring again on those pins
You saint. Thanks
You don't happen to have a picture of the ECU pinout? my eyesight isn't the best unfortunately so may not be able to read any numbers on the plug.
Hi All,
Got an issue with my 182 i'm trying to trace, does anyone have a Pinout ECU diagram or Engine Wiring Diagram (would be handy for another job i need to do).
Where do the 182 CPS wires go?? would rather test them before pulling the loom apart. do they go straight to ECU if so which...
Right. Checked all earths and all fuses. Relays and relay contacts are all good, me bridging the relay isn't a solution the cause is the signal is not being sent to the relay to activate fuel pump & coilpack.
Don't have spark anymore, don't know if that was just a coincidence the one time or...
Yes hard wired them yesterday, and it ran, but came to switch off and restart and it wouldn't. may be coincidence.
Getting solid Red Immob light while trying to crank.
Earths is on my list of things to Re-check again.
Fixed the Red EML.
it briefly runs if i feed fuel to the inlet manifold. so telling my i've got spark. but no fuel / not injecting.
Pump is not running with ignition so an underlying issue there, but i run a direct feed to pump and still doesn't inject. going to plug it in tomorrow again and...
Yes i've removed the chip of the key and tested it and when removed that one flashes very fast.
The other one (RED EML with STOP written inside) is flashing and it will cut the cranking of the engine.
Ok, just swapped the engine over from my 172 to the 182 (using original 182 ecu and loom) and its not starting while cranking it will either kill the cranking after a few seconds or it will crank over. the circular immob light stays solid while cranking (i've split the key open and tested it...
Doing an engine swap from 51 Plate 172 into 04 Plate 182, the looms appear to be the same apart from 1 plug (I'm trying to get a photo of it)
It goes into the fusebox (with the big white main plug) it is a white plug a little smaller than the main one and only has 4 or so wires to it? thats the...
