Running costs are not as bad as everyone thinks....
I would recommend the 3.0 5 speed M3's over the later 3.2 6speed Evo's as the common fault with the evo's is the double vanos system packing up, which is very expensive to fix.
The 3.0 lumps are bullet proof....regular servicing is all...
For anyone thinking of getting a E36 M3...
Here is a couple of clips of mine...3.0 version with Dave.F custom induction kit and supersprint race exhaust system. (LHD)
RR @ 301BHP

Best thing to have on your car is anti - hijack...even if they had the keys they would only get a few yards down the road before youre car would cut out and alarm would sound.
Not bad considering you can get them fitted for £120 now.

172 mate....even with 200BHP in the Ibiza it will still feel slow due to its weight...plus the 172 will out handle the Ibiza no problem......what about Civic Type R....exhaustsystem, manifold, induction kit plus chip will see you over 200BHP plus excellent handling......

Yeah agree you can get big gains for little money with forced induction cars....not the same as the sound of a tuned big lump IMOH.

bigmoose...after the S3 is chipped do you still get that little delay before the boost kicks when you put your foot down as in a standard S3?
Plus does it maintain boost to the redline and not give up after 6000rpm as in standard mode?
Hi ppl
Just browsing the forum and past posts and it seems most people opt to go down the forced induction route when moving on from their clio valvers, 172,s Cups etc.......on to something like S3s Cupra Rs etc. Find that suprising as I would have thought Clio drivers would be in favour of...
Im not suprised it was very close as we all know there are two types of boxster the normal one and the "S" however there is a slight difference in the normal boxsters the pre 2002 models had 8BHP less and probably less torque, 2002 and onwards have the extra 8BHP, i have listed the stats below...
