I'm 30. Had my 172 for 2 years, spend all week driving a 3.5 tonne master so the Clio brings a smile to my face every weekend. (except when it's broken) After 2000 miles cornering slowly. Remembering the van is not a rs Clio when approaching roundabouts first thing on a Monday is very important! :)
Now I've finished prettyfying my car I've noticed the rear pads are pretty mullered....
Will I need a caliper rewind tool to compress the piston or is it a squeeze and go job?
I was in k-tec the other week and there was a chap well in his 50's looked like a city banker type, having his cup serviced.... Can't fault him. if I won the lotto, my shopping list would be epic. But I'd keep my 172. Why? Because it is a ridiculous amount of fun. The end!
I've purchased carbon bullets and diamonds from streamline, who list the parts as "bonding required"
Anyone know what the best product to bond them on with?
Haven't got a pic handy but they come with adhesive putty on them. And just cut the hole and stick them on. Fit the exhaust as best you can so you cut in the right place
I've noticed some patches of swirling/holograms down my off side, I think I've done it by clearing up bird poo with handwipes and this has caused a reaction with the laquer.
Anyone experienced anything similar or has a suggestion for a remedy?
Sounds like the cv joint bud. I had the same problem. You can buy a complete shaft or just the cv joint, euro car parts sell a kit which includes the joint, boot clips grease and a new circlip. If memory serves it was about £40
That's what sold the recessed to me too, bought a bluflame twin tail pipe jobbie off eBay last year when I was skint, just don't like the sat under the bumper look, that and I'm forever banging it into kerbs.
I was sure I had already replied....
But anyway... Greetings, I've got an iceberg phase 2.
Although I slightly wish I'd bought a cup, just for that blue!
Just ordered a k tec sport recessed exhaust. Anyone had any fitting issues? Aside from cutting the bumper (not looking forward to that part)
Also have had a k&n 57i kit on for a while now, love the noise, but performance wise would I be better off with the standard airbox and a ktr or other...
Hi all. Been a member over a year and realised I've not yet said hello...
Apologies, hope we are all well. I'm from bury St edmunds and probably one of the older 172 owners... But it's a cheap thrill for me... Well not cheap to keep but I didn't pay a lot for it.
Hi chaps, just looking for a general opinion, when I give my 172 some beans into a tight left hander I get a strong knocking judder from the OS, checked the wheel for play etc, I'm thinking driveshafts but have heard this is unlikely as it's only done 55k,
Any thoughts? :)
