Lol, you turned up 2 hours early, that wash took less than 5 minutes in the dark! Anyway enjoy, when its sorted let me know. As for the price I'll just say he got a bargain, best of luck to anyone trying to sell a car at the moment the markets been talked away by the media.
I wish I'd got...
I got the backbox from CES, £80 including the rear bracket/rubber mount. It had exactly the same part number stamped on as the kwikfit one the PO had fitted so I also know where they get their exhausts from!
The only difference between new and old is the new one was welded down both sides...
I sold my williams last summer and got an 944 s2. Went round donnington, which was great but knowing the car was worth 5k wasnt as much fun as I spent a lot of the day worrying about how broke Id be if I crashed. Plus the fact that someone turned up in a williams 3 and lapped at the same pace...
Ive recently gone from 195/50 eagle f1s to 185/55 pilots. Old sxs at the front and exaltos at the back. A lot less wet weather grip but a lot more fun. Car is a lot more progressive and definetly more tail happy. Well recommended.
John
After building up a few more years no claims Ill either be getting an nsx or a end of line 964 c2. An rx7 would also be on the list but my housemate has just got one and in any colour but red (or faded pink like my housemates;)) they have that dirty jap thing going that I dont like. So those...
GTT as it has more or less the same chassis but you can get a lot more power and especially torque throughout the rev range, but only if you are prepared to work on it yourself and treat it as a hobby.
146ti wise my girlfriends got a 145 cloverleaf and while it is cheap for what it is and has...
One of my friends went from a standard 1.6 gti to a mk1 172 and was dissapointed. The 172 was loads faster in almost every situation but a lot less comunicative and harder to play with on the limit than the little pug. Just his opinion before people get angry. If you need a motorway car then...
Just gone from 195s to 185s and agree with everyones comments above. Noticably less grip but the car is a lot easier to slide, more progressive. Depends what you are after.
£799 (sounds a lot less than £800!) Fully Comp 23 2yrs ncb 10k a year, with elephant, garaged in the suburbs, girlfriend as named driver knocked £300 off :)despite her being the same age.
Sorry to bring this up again. I have had a look at mine and where the column goes into the lower uj there is loads of play. If I get this welded what are the issues? As far as I can see the UJ either side take care of the axial and angular misalignment so only risk is welding it short/long...
You can earn okay money there so fair dues good luck with it. Its a bit 24/7 for me dont fancy leaving work at 10pm on a friday then getting called back at 12 (plus Im not clever enough). Try and get some FEA experience as thats a pretty steady way in.
King I am glad you gave evo a near as...
lol its only a tarted up clio! Anyway I asked for Eagle F1s in 185/55R15 but they wouldnt seal, too narrow.
stan* I take it youre doing mech eng or similar and intend to sack engineering off and move into finance or you wont be earning the mega bucks you say a clipboard will get you. No...
I had king strombas view that standard was best. But recently a mate bought a willy after a ride in mine. And parked up together mine was lower. So despite all my mickey taking of my boy racer friends I was actually running a modded car despite what I thought/the lad told me when he sold it...
Im doing a clutch change on a mates williams. He had a new clutch put in and it started slipping soon after. Rather than throw more money at the garage we have taken the engine out and split it from the gearbox. There is oil everywhere (looks like engine oil doesnt smell like gearbox oil)...
Only two I can compare as in have done any real miles in are gti-6 and williams. gti6 is better all round car, nicer driving position nicer gearbox, nicer sound etc. Both similar pace. But on a b road the williams goes that bit harder. If I had 5k Id get a williams, 6k Id get the gti6. As I...
£100 plus 15 delivery 2nd hand or £370 plus vat for a brand new one off renault. I think all you need is 19 16v wishbones (£30 each off gs&f) and driveshafts and a williams steering rack and dampers and you have a cheap williams. It would be interesting to price up converting a valver to a...
According to Renault the clio 16v and Williams have different part numbers for the subframe. According to Hill Power, cliospares in wolverhampton and Infinicar the williams subframe has some strengthening plates welded to it. I ordered my williams subframe (2nd hand) off Infinicar last friday...
Im getting the gsf ones too. Fitting them next weekend (along with a subframe if I can get one :() so will let you know if they fit or not. Presume it will be fine, not the sort of thing thats worth making specially.
A mate did a summer placement at williams four years back. Apparantly the bloke he worked for said he had got given a 16v for a bit, ragged it round the car park and made a few recommendations to changes to suspension mountings etc so that they felt would make the little clio worthy of the...
Water was pissing in through the head lining by the edge of my sunroof and dripping onto the drivers seat. I put gallons of sealant all round the edge but didnt stop it. Someone on here suggested the aerial. So took that off put loads of silicon sealant around it now its mint. Might leave...
Need a new wishbone for my Williams due to lack of driving skill. I know the wishbone is the same as the 19 16v but are the bushes and balljoint? Basically so I can pay Euro Car Parts Prices rather than Renault. Cheers.
Just under £800 fully comp with Elephant for 23 2yrs ncb. Putting my girlfriend on (same age) as a named driver took it down from £1100!!! Stick your mum on/the next door neighbour is well worth it. Directline wanted more to put her on.
Sorry mate looks like I lied to you, £42.50 maybe I was getting confused with the normal clio price.
