So I went to get the tracking done today, and it couldn't be done due to the track rod end and ball joint needing replaced. Was going to have a bash at them myself, sadly I only have a four poster ramp and I've heard a lot of 'brute' force is required to get the pin out with the ball joint...
Yeah weird, definitely was one there though, as the metal underneath is 'shiny'.
Nice one Andy, appreciated. Shall have a look tomorrow, need to pop to Renault anyway as the fuel rail cover mounts sheared too!
I paid £400 for belt, water pump and dephaser last time. For £400 it's hardly worth messing about with, going to cost a lot more than that if the engine goes pop.
Stupid question possibly, but how do I measure them (obviously with a multi meter) but does the car need to be started? Does the fuel rail need to be back on?
Pretty confident, replaced plugs, leads, had a service etc. Only other thing it could be would be a sensor, but then that'd be above my head and would most likely need to go to a garage...
Coil Pack was also changed.
So the 182 is running lumpy as hell, has been for a while. Plugged it into the code reader and showing a cyclinder four fault. Is it as easy as taking off the fuel rail, taking out injectors 1+4 swapping them over. Grease up Orings, replace fuel rail and then check the code reader again?
Thanks,
Thinking about selling up;
Silver 182, FF.
88, 000 miles.
Brand new TAX/MOT
Miltek exhaust
OZ F1s with good tread.
Small dent in the bonnet (which I'll probaly get fixed if I do go to sell it)
Belts done last year
Serviced well, and only by trusted mechanics (won't take her to a garage...
Having been young once, trust me. Run it as a cheap car and get the car you want when you can aford the insurance. It's really just not worth it.
The money you would spend, pop it in a jar and come the time when you go to a buy a 'real' car you'll have a fair whack of the money sitting there :)
Sorry guys!
But going to check this tomorrow, the bolt spacing. Is it from the centre of the bolt to the centre of the other bolt. Or the closest edges of the bolts?
If that makes sense, does in my head!
Tis ok, from centre of bolt. Found this thread...
Thanks, shall have a look. Easy to do with the wheel on the ground?
Worried that the other bolts snap on the other side (garage must've put them on with an air gun), would rather not take the risk till I can get it in the garage and have to worry about driving 150miles with 3 bolts either side.
Hi,
I have a Clio 182, supposedly with cup packs, but obviously a spoiler and lower lip are easy things to add by a dealer. I believe the difference is 54mm and 60mm on the bolt spacing.
I have tried measuring with the wheel on, but its a nightmare to be honest. One of the bolts have snapped...
Still up for this, you can buy tickets on the gate right?
Still unsure if I'm back in Scotland next weekend. :/
Need to get her cleaned this weekend, pity I couldn't get the wheels on though.
