Another previous scooby owner, had a bugeye wrx first, the a type R scooby and the 172 I have no would hold its own around twisties with the the wrx.
I really do not now regret my choice as running costs are so much lower and seems so less likely to go bang as my v4sti did after a few weeks. :(
Your in a rangerover for goodness sakes, you pull out and then put your hand up as if to say sorry.. :D or thats what I used to do. Not many people will actually argue.
As to the bmw driver thing, I found that people just were rude to me in mine. Yet I drive the same in whatever I drive.
Totally agree there... but wouldnt say no to a new one but cant have the 200 as the version I want only has 2 rear seats and I need 3. ( unless I can sell a child<joking> )
Having come from a scooby Type R, I can tell you I find my 172 more fun than the Scooby. Okay, no it doesn't pin me to my seat and make my passengers tummys turn over on full boost, but around some twisties I smile more. Oh and its more fun to get the better of someone in as no one seems to...
fair play to him, near me there is a little old lady who seems to get a new STI impreza Every two years. She has to be about 80, and she just pootles about. :D makes me smile every time I see her.
I am 34 and think my clio is great. Grown up cars are overated... it keeps you young driving something fun.
as grown up as I like to get was my scoobys. :D Grown up because they cost the earth to run and repair. :D
Okay as I have now decided that it isn't really worth me trading up as I won't get much more for my money apart from the bits that don't bother me.... What is best for more power increase.
It has a induction kit but I would rather swap that for a standard box and uprated panel filter as I...
I have 3 kids and two still in car seats and manage fine in the clio. I just fit the younger one in the front and make dad go behind her. :D but that is mostly to stop my little dears fighting as she does fit okay in the back. she is 3 now so her legs are loads longer.
Also fit loads in the...
I was going to ask if it has a air filter fitted as I have seen similar problems on other cars when a airfilter isn't correctly fitted.
The throttle body should be easy enough to take off and clean yourself though. I had a similar problem on my phase one and it was pretty much doing what you...
thats the thing most of my mates run them fine on vpower but if I had another one now I would get a rb5 or a newage. but I did love having the two door. Wish i had just gone for a uk spec engine and ecu to repair it.
But would have lost the aggression that the type R had.
Thing is I find the...
It wasnt for me, it was an arguement that I kinda lost too... lol I love my ph1 172 and it has all the goodies for me,only luxury I wouldn't be without is my aircon. :D
btw what are the proper 0-60 times as I have searched and found figures all over the place. Been told by a few friends that...
Thank you. :D Just when I was looking at buying a 182 got told that if I didnt mind not having the luxuries to go for the trophy. Didnt realise the 172 cups didnt have the bits as all the ones I actually went to view did have air con and I dont really call traction control a luxury anyway. :D...
Am I correct in saying that the Trophy is the 182 that is stripped of its luxuries...
As someone said its the cup models that don't get any aircon etc etc.
Yeah for me I do think that the 182 looks nicer but not enough nicer to bother me. I have aircon and electric windows and thats about as much gadgets as I like.. :D Yes cruise control would be nice for long drives but I tend to do them in something else anyway.
Its more really the drive, hubby...
I am converted into loving my clio. Was meant to be a stop gap while I looked for something else after selling my type R Scooby. However, I like my little car to much and with the good mpg..( although recently been giving it some here and there and now down to 26mpg average) It has great road...
