I ve just read in a forum where someone was being tore to pieces that the 172s have varible valve timing is this the same as hondas vtec and toyotas vvtis? If so could the point it kicks in be lowered like in the Hondas with the apex-i vtec controller?

I have been having problems with the running of my clio 1.4 rt. When it is idling the revs sit lower than normal then jump up or drop ever minute or so. When the car is in motion it is really hesitant for example at 30 when i am in second gear, not accelerating just keeping speed, its feeld...
