That is a fair size plate mate, 200 mm is the common but i upgraded both clutch and flywheel to 215mm.. Big and strong enough to take 220 bhp im only running 180 bhp with my rich mod ecu,filter and exhaust...:cool:
So does any one know if i have to change my coloum aswell as the rack ?
well u say that but it's only what i have learnt as i go along, plenty of research is really the main factor.
I still have plenty to do but im in no rush, gotta pace meself so every thing gets done right first time then i know every thing will work and last for years.
Power steering is...
Yup, going for sum 15" laguna steels painted gloss black, lowered 60mm a good polish and clean and prob get the door step painted as it has a few chips on it appart from that it's gonna be bulk standard inside and out..
Best way is a sleeper, no one expects a 1.4 rt to move like this baby does...
Plenty of progress, i removed the top half of the dash and wired all my gauges in and rev counter wires..
And all finished
Engine bay is nearly all done, just have to buy a filter and wire in the fan on it's own circuit..
Got my down pipe and cat on ready for mot just need to make the...

Got my new volvo flywheel and 215 mm clutch fitted
Got all the loom in and cabled tied in nice and neat around engine and rad etc.. Got all the coolant system sorted and a nice warm heater inside..
I got alot more dun...
Good news is my flywheel and ecu's and sports clutch should be here on tuesday, so hopefully this weekend i should have some gears and movement on it's own steam... :rasp:

I have a mk2 1.4 rt clio on a s plate and i have just fitted my volvo turbo lump in and got it running..
My main concern is i need some better brakes as i don't think my small front disc's and rear drums are going to stop 170 bhp...
Is there any easy up grade for the front, maybe like...
Honest i did, bought a 480 with a private plate still on it for £10, i would have never gone on the road the drivers inner wing was the corroded the chassis rail snapped in half, the rear quarter panels where that rotten u could see the floor when u was sat in the back lol..

Well as for progress, not much.. had a major head ache with fly wheel issues and then i snapped my tdc sensor wires clean off...
Fitted new subframe bolts and painted the manifold, sent me ecu away for the rich mod, should see 170 at the fly... Now just waiting for my fly wheel and ecu to turn...
At first i was thinking about putting it into a 3 door rsi but then i thought every one's done that so i thought i'd make a 4 door sleeper instead. This way no one suspects a thing untill ya smoke em lol..

I'm doing a conversion on my mk 2 clio to a volvo turbo lump, I want to keep it total standard sleeper look but as it's only a 1.4 rt on a s plate the wheels arnt really wide or big enuf for decent grip..
I want to keep steel wheels as i want it to look standard so was wondering...
Got the water system all sorted now, also ran it till it was warm and it started and stopped fine with no issues at all.
Now the engine has to come out to fit the fly wheel and clutch in and job's done...
Need a inter cooler any body got any idea's as to what would be a good fit...
If i had to pay some one to do it then it would never be worth it, it get's a bit much working on cars all day then doing my own at night, feel like i'm working 24/7 lol..

Bit more progress..
Got all the wiring loom sorted today decided to mount the two volvo ecu's under the scuttle panel out the way and clipped the loom in place down the inner wing...
Just made a hole in the bulk head panel for the wires to go through and i also fitted a ignition feed to the...
About 160 bhp with my rich mod ecu, you could go more but i dont see the point as the car aint rally geared up to take much more, i mite give it a 50 bhp shot of nos lol..

Yes it's the 1.7 ohc 8 v engine b18ft lump...
Well the wires on the sensor are just plain old wires so i doubt that they are measured on resistance, thing is i didn't want to tidy all the loom up and then find out it wont read the correct speed and have to pull all those wires out again that...
Does any one know if it matters if i extend the speed sensor wires, i extended them about 30 cm, the wires were just ordinary wires nothing special about them i extended them by about 30 cm and soldered all joins and heat shrunk them all up..

Got the battery fitted in the boot today, i used a corsa 16v bolt in tray and clamp cost £16... Got a heavy duty earth lead and bolted that to the floor, i then ran a 38mm squared power cable down the inside of the car, i clipped it all along the passenger side under the plastic trim so you...
