Big news boys, ive decided im selling the clio going for a fabia vrs, selling mine for £4400 ono i was shocked to see on autotrader that the value of 172's have incresed quite abit now.Two people who know alot more about cars drove the car and couldnt notice anything wrong even under heavy braking.
Ive got the car booked into the garage for tomorrow morning for them to have a proper look at it and find out what is wrong. However im now beginning to panic slightly as when i spoke to the mechanic he said he doubted it was the caliper as the wheels were spinning fine and there was no...
I checked the tyre pressures when the problem first started a few weeks back 32psi was both sides.Ive been told the shock absorbers are beginning to wear on that side too but as to discovering what the problem is i have no idea. Its stumped me after being told it isnt the tracking
Ive had a problem with my 172 for a few weeks now it drifts to the right when driving along normally and under hard braking it will shoot off to the right.Ive been to a tyre, wheel specialist they said it isnt tracking which my immediate thought so been to my local Renault specialist and there...
Try the mounts on the exhaust mate as cheapest option it could be a bit of give in them causing the exhaust to go up and down.Renaults are renowed for having crap exhausts.i had exactly the same problem ended up being the driveshaft was worn on the drivers side, when going over bumps or unstable...
Ive noticed recently that when i get upto about 80mph the steering begins to feel light to the right,to the left it feels perfectly fine. What i mean is the steering wheel feels lighter to move.Ive had tyres changed recently and balanced and the pressures are all ok.Ive been to my local tyre...
I get this problem but only when its been really cold, now the weather is abit better i dont suffer from it at all yet in the winter the trip computer likes to reset itself all the time.
There is a very annoying rattling noise coming from the back passenger side of my 172,im thinking it could be the crap interior panels rattling as ive had a service and mot done recently, had new rear discs and bearings fitted and the noise has continued.Am i just going to have to accept the...
Bit of a problem,my 172 under acceleration or just steady driving will drift to the right.I recently had new tyres put on the front and there on 32psi.Under hard acceleration the steering wheel will move to the right and there seems to be too much play in the steering wheel, again to the...
Im thinking of getting an induction kit for my standard mk2 172 so a couple of questions..
1.Do they actually make a difference?
2.If so,which is best and how much am i looking at spending..
3 questions altogther.
If your getting the driveshaft done by a garage make sure they specifically order a 172 driveshaft and not just a clio one as surprisingly enough they dont fit.Had my driverside one done last month and thats the mistake the garage made.Goes alot better now the new one is on
Ive decided im going to keep my 172,since spinning it into a kerb at 90mph last year and almost writing it off ive spent over 2k in looking after it.What i want to know is what little things can i do to keep it running well?Ive had it serviced, cambelt change and new driverside driveshaft done in...
Fields Renault in Malvern, there normally very good had cambelt and driveshaft done with them in past 12 months genuine guys. The main Renault dealer in Worcester was going to supply the brakes.Just bought set off ebay and got my mate to fit them for me,saved over £100 just for looking around abit.
Had a minor service and mot yesterday at my local Renault specialist, everything fine but will require new rear pads and discs.....£283 they quoted.I almost had a heart attack at 23.I can buy everything needed off ebay for £107 and just get someone to fit them for me,saving hell of alot of...
Ive got a major issue with my built in Carminat satnav in my 02plate 172.It keeps stalling. The disc will work fine on short journeys but go on the motorway where it hasnt got to work so much and it will stall. The screen will freeze and eventually reset but you cant use the satnav again,if you...
Just found out it was the driveshaft on the near side that is knackered.Going to tkae 3/4 days to repair as it has to be stripped to see if the the cup and bearing need replacing aswell.Renault are difficult as you cant return unused parts.Going to cost £310 so not best pleased.
