are you getting the pulleys/idlers etc changed also?

change them all to be on the safe side mate as once you change 1 worn mount for new it then transferes the movement over to the other worn mounts, litteraly picking on the next weakest link. There not expensive and it transformes the car.

how does a 172 cup differ do you have to change any pulleys etc on the aux belt???

wrong oil and wrong grade its only a semi synthetic but you could have bought worse i suppose.

personally i wouldn't use anything other than sylkolene, mobil 1, etc, but then im fussy about oil as i work with it and i know exactly what sh!t oil does to an engine over time

try the tdc sensor on top of the gearbox cost around 40 quid from renault, is the engine completely cutting out dead?? or missfiring?? if it's missfiring check your spark plugs, leads, and coil pack

its a simple fix tbh mate do you have a haynes manual? if it is coming from the thermostat housing then you can buy a new gasket cheap enuf from renault

for the sake of a few quid get some new spark plugs but do not goto renault for them unless your a rich man! 22 notes each i believe

not even renault charge that much ;) ,..... How do you know the spark plugs are fine?? mine did 200 miles and looked brand new but were fooked inside STAY AWAY FROM BOSCH SPARK PLUGS!!!!!!!!!

I did do a search but as soon as someone seems to have solved the problem they dissapear ;). Problem solved!! the crappy bosch super 4 spark plugs i put in 200 miles ago have broken down inside so put some oe ones back in and its now perfect :)

My 172 cup has developed a missfire at but it only does it when the car is warm and i go over 1/4 throttle, if im really gentle it runs fine it will sit happy at 80mph but as soon as i press the throttle over 1/4 the way down it runs on 3 cylinders, it also runs on 3 at idle, ive changed the...

more likely to be leaking from the cam cover bolts so check this first before you start splashing out on bits

If i was in your shoes id be ****ed off too!!! and the stealers really are bending you over and ****ing you tbh! 140 pounds for spark plugs!!! why dont you go and get a set and fit them yourself? same for the brake's its an easy job and you would save a fortune, and as for the cambelt why are...
