Just getting my Phase 1 172 back on the road after a few years of standing. The front nearside tyre has excessive wear on the both the outer and inner edge. Am i right in guessing its probably either play in the ball joint or track rod end? Just pror to being laid up i did manage to hit a curb...

I am currently doing about 2000 miles a month, so took my 172 off the road and using my trusty Pug 106 diesel and getting around 60mpg BUT i'm sick to death of it, very slow, noisy etc....price you pay for economy i suppose! I have 2 172's, a phase 1 and phase 2 in storage both sitting around...

My phase 1 has been laid up and the MOT has lapsed but the windscreen has been broken to the point where it won't pass the next MOT - ideally I want to replace it through my insurance (£50 or so excess) does the fact the MOT has expired make me unable to claim? Anyone had experience of this?
