Cheers Mark I think I will disable them again, was really happy to find it was just that causing them to be on.
However the car is currently dead in my car park as the alternator failed, probably what drained my old battery in the first place. My local Renault garage want £458 to supply and...
Feel pretty stupid now as it was the automatic headlights so I was looking for a problem I never had. However it does seem that someone disabled the auto lights and by me changing the battery it has gone back to factory settings hence me never noticing I had them. Thanks for pointing that out...
I changed my battery recently and encountered lots of problems since. I have put a couple of threads about the problems but it all came to a head today when I was driving to the supermarket and a whole list of electrical faults started.
First my radio cut out, then my ABS light and traction...
I didn't know I have auto lights but they have never been on in daylight before. Also I have never noticed the lights come on automatically when it gets dark so if I do have auto lights it certainly doesn't appear to work?
I checked all 6 of the relays under the glove box and they are all in...
Thanks I have taken all 6 of the relays under the glove box out so I can take them to work and test them. I don't think it is the stalk as the lights work correctly with the ignition on just not when the engine is running Hope I find a broken relay or it may be the uch :(
Really hope its not that just spent £500 to get the cambelt replaced :( I have had a look through that section and put a new thread in there but haven't come across anyone that's had the same problem. Will probably just have to live with it if its the uch and its going to cost £400
I have a fault on my lights which has all the symptoms of a relay being stuck in as the lights are on if the engine is running even with the switch in the off position, is it easy to remove the UCH and change a relay inside it?
Anyone have any idea? If a wiring diagram is available then that would be a big help! I have tried taking all of the relays out from the fuse box in the engine bay but they don't control the lights, there must be another bank of relays about somewhere?
My 182 has developed a fault which I'm hoping is just a broken relay. When the engine is running the headlights are on with the switch in the 'off' position, the sidelights come on when they should. the final position on the switch also brings the dipped lights on. I think that the relay that...
I took the car back into Renault today and they had to drop me back at work as they need more time to sort it. The front end of the car is coming off again apparently as it certainly doesn't seem to be a quick fix for them, I am now car-less until Friday. Lucky I cycle to work!
I wont be giving them any money to fix the problem, I know it was working fine before it went in there. I have only had the car for about 2 months so not sure if the catch has ever been replaced :-S find it hard to believe they would send a car out of the garage like that they must know they...
I sent my 182 into my local Renault garage today for a cam belt change.
Got the phone call to go and pick it up, I was very pleased they had no issues and didn't report anything else that might have needed repairing whilst doing the job.
However. I got out of my car a little later and...
Hi
I have recently bought a RS Clio 182 and I want to get the timing belt done, Renault have quoted me £500 which seems a little high considering Ktec will do it for £430. How much have you paid for this job and is it worth getting it done by Renault? Should I search for another garage and...
Thanks, I was looking at the panasonic lumix fs30 seems to be alot of good reviews and the pictures that people have taken from it look amazing! Not so sure about a refurbished one think i would sooner pay that little bit more for a brand new version.
Hi i know this is in the wrong place but i thought its the best place to get it seen by the people who take pictures alot!
What camera would you suggest i buy for around £100? There is alot to choose from but i want to make sure i get the best one for my hard earned cash! If possible post...
do different kits not give different sounds? or are they all the same? Im looking into the K&N apollo kit as its not to expensive (£132 on ebay) and from searching the forum it seems people like that one!
I want to get an induction kit for my 172 cup as i like the sound of them  my mate had a green induction kit on his 1.8 16v clio and it sounded like it was sucking the air out of the planet! Is this one any good on the 172?
Cheers!
Is it the bosche type adapter for a halfords pressure washer it looks like the bayonet type fitment? Pretty steep price but if its good then i may have to save up some pennys :)
I recently got some snow foam from cleanyourcar.com and a detergent bottle for my halfords pressure washer. When i tried it there wasnt that much foam, it seems that not enough pressure was passing through the detergent bottles head to make a good heavy layer of foam even with double the dosage...
Might have to try that but before i do i found something else that apparently works. I phoned basingstoke MOT station (last place of MOT) and they said to get it to pass they struggled as the back end is so light and barely gives a reading so they sat a cppl of mechanics in the back whilst...
The tester has phoned VOSA and they have apparently said it has to be at least 50% now am i right in saying that the pressure is pre set by renault to be lower then normal?
So no matter what they try to do to fix the problem of brake effiency they are never going to achieve it? I have to take...
well i took page 8 down to the garage and they have still failed the car apparently the brake effiency needs to be at least 50% and mine is coming up at 49%!! past failed MOTs of the car show the brake effienceny at 46% i dont know what to do with it and neither does the mechanic???
Any ideas...
My car went in today for its MOT. The guy from the garage called me to say that it has failed as the rear brakes are not working, not even a little! I asked is that a case of needing new pads and disks but he says he is unsure why there is nothing on the back.
To me the car has always braked...
