Any idea what this connector is for?

I was trying to diagnose another problem relating to gear selection today when I saw this connector after removing the ash tray. I've attached a picture. Any idea what it's for? My guess is a diagnostic related thing? Thanks

    Possible problem with gearbox?

Yeah, it's fine going from 3rd to 4th. I showed my dad today and he thinks it's as it should be; I remember my driving instructors car being the same. I'll just have to be more careful changing down I guess.:(

    Possible problem with gearbox?

Oh no, I'm going to have to buy that Hayne's manual then :(

    Possible problem with gearbox?

Talking to someone at work, this could be a problem with the spring that centers the gear lever again; sound plausible?

    Possible problem with gearbox?

Tonight I was driving home, in 5th gear and went to change down to 4th. When I did, instead of the usual silky-smooth change straight down to 4th, I hit resistance and had to go accross and down as I suspect you would normally. I have no problems going into 5th, just down to 4th. I changed as...

    Radio dropping signal

Ok, bought the overpriced removal tool from Halfords, popped the radio out and the aerial connection is firmly on and crud free. Thought for a minute that someone had swapped the original aerial for a shorter one, messing with the signal but looking at other clio's of the same period they all...

    Radio dropping signal

Hi, the tuner list radio I have keeps dropping signal every few seconds when listening to FM; I'm guessing that the aerial connection on the back has come loose. I'm going to pull out the radio to check at the weekend but could it be anything else? The radio aerial seems to be in good condition...

1.4 Expression 16v Trip Computer Stalk Button

Just to clear up about the button; my car is definately the expression 16v 1.4, the button is on the end of the wiper stalk (the stalk on the right hand side of the wheel) and it has no dots. The whole end of it is the button. Incidentally the other stalk has an identical button. Cheers

1.4 Expression 16v Trip Computer Stalk Button

Great, wish I'd bought the dynamique instead now :). I don't suppose there's any way to add a full computer; I guess the only way is to swap the dial cluster?

    Relay 'Clicking'

Lol :). As long as its normal. It is fairly noticeable; guess I'll get used to it though.

    Relay 'Clicking'

Just noticed that every time I operate the wipers, heated rear screen and the right hand electric window I get a clicking sound coming from presumably the relays somewhere on the passenger side. Is this normal? Thanks

1.4 Expression 16v Trip Computer Stalk Button

So the button below the dials resets the mileage since last time pressed, but the button on the end of the stalk does nothing? Sorry for the confusion :)

1.4 Expression 16v Trip Computer Stalk Button

Doesn't the button on the display just reset the mileage?

1.4 Expression 16v Trip Computer Stalk Button

Hi, I've just bought a clio 1.4 16v expression and seem to have a trip computer; its showing the current miles since last reset. When I press the button on the end of the stalk on the right of the steering wheel, nothing happens. Is the button broken or do I just have a readout of mileage on...
