I found something I had stashed away in my lockup this evening......completely forgot I had it to be honest.
Now this 'something' I believe was intended for a Clio Cup race car although I might be wrong.
It's got JASA embossed in it and is in a box that has the name Jasa Engineering on it...
Think I've got some of you....not on the actual ring though - my mate took some with my camera....will dig them out and post them up.
We did 966 miles....loved every minute....wishing I was still there now - weather was spot on too.
LOL.....that was me pal!
Spotted you a few times over the weekend. You have a good trip? Just got home now - trouble free weekend other than a split CV boot.
Did you see me on the ring or get any pics?
Has anyone got the wiring diagrams for the following switches...
Central Locking
Hazard Lights
Rear Window De-Mist
Central Locking
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Lee
Oi.....nothin pesky about my Clio & you know it!!!! I wont mention the fact that you couldnt get past me until 140 either on the straight.....oh too late....sorry!!! ;o)
P.S. Welcome to CS LOL!!!
Yeh, it probably was the key mate but it was either £120 for 1 new key re-coded.....or £150 for an ECU, consumer unit & 2 key fobs, unfortunately I didnt have a spare key when I got the car!!
So I can sell my old ECU and get some money back at some point.
2nd hand ECU and consumer unit fitted tonight.
Transferred my key end into the new keb fob & it fired up straight away!
Job sorted.
Thanks to Josh @ Cliospares for supplying me with the bits I needed.
The code is held in the circuit board not in the actual piece of metal that forms the key part.
Slide the key apart and flick the bit of plastic that holds the key part in place - you can then just pull it out.
Just a thought - how do you turn on your ignition or is all that done via switches etc?
Right, well tonight I have proved that its definitely the immobiliser at fault - more than likely the key to be honest.
I've got my mates 182 in at the moment with running issues so I did a little test - removed his circuit board out of his key and tried to start it - it did exactly the same as...
Right, understood. I did think that it should of been turning over. Going to check that wire tonight, have to remove the damn heatshield wont I? Battery is fine - full charged as I did it the other night.
So in theory you dont actually need a new ECU - just the consumer unit & key or is the...
Changed them - no difference mate.
Checked fuses - all fine. Charged battery up fully & its not that either.
What does the immobiliser actually immobilise?
Reason I ask is that the engine doesnt actually turn over either - I thought it just immobilsed the fuel / spark?
Thinking of just...
Got a Ph2 172, never had a problem with starting etc until last weekend.
Got in it after it being sat in my lockup as usual for a week, put key in, turned it - nothing. Red immobiliser light flashing - so presumeably immobiliser isnt turning off.
So far I've changed the transponder ring & the...
I'll explain a bit better for him as I've just had a look at it.
The pedal is now constantly solid even when driving. Brakes work of sorts but you really have to work hard to get them to do anything.
To me it seems like all servo assistance has disappeared - so either the servo valve is at...
53k miles, 2-3k with Gripper diff fitted.....90% trackday mileage as thats all its used for.
3rd gear crunches when going in from 2nd or 4th when cold - fine when hot.
Box rattles like a b**ch at idle - until you depress the clutch, could be release bearing but I'm not thinking so especially...
Can someone please take a picture of the rear of the alternator thats fitted in a 172/182 engine bay and include in the picture the aircon pipes fitted into the air con pump if possible too - then post it up here.
Many thanks
Lee
Yeh, it was only a trackday on the Saturday mate so was quite quiet - only 10 cars on track at once, Sunday was better, busier but unfortunately it rained....not that it stopped me enjoying myself out on track anyway!!!
Would be good to see pics though nice one.
Petrol engined sumps do sit alot higher than the TDI ones.
Mines a little flat in places and I'm not really that low.
...and yes you can just cut them & pull them out & you'd probably not notice much difference in normal driving.
Thats my mate JCs from Liverpool.
Its a standard 1.2 shell with a 172 (silver) front end & running gear in it.
Did you get any pics of my Clio that was there mate? Silver 172.....aka Tripod?
Just uploaded some incar footage from the weekend on one of the wet sessions I did.....its in 2 parts..
