I agree if cruise control is being used I would say it is slightly more economical than not using it as the throttle is so precise, there's no fluctuation from the pedal that would happen with your foot, from my experience anyway!
I just washed it with AutoGlym shampoo and conditioner and then used AutoGlym Super Resin Polish. Nothing exciting but I've used it on all my cars and never had a problem.
Gave my Clio it's first polish yesterday evening, I'm guessing maybe it was machined at some point as it seems to have come up quite well for a 66k mile car! :S  :)
Hi all,
Sorry if there's already a thread about this, I did have a quick search but it's late and I need my Horlicks.
I'm just wondering (as the title says) about comparisons on rev limits. Namely in second gear.
The 3 phase 2 172 sports I owned seemed to hit their limit in 2nd gear at...
Each to their own, but my own is 'wtf?!!'
Still cheaper to look at that than pay for an acid trip :D
Good luck to them on selling it, would probably be a bit tricky to get it back to standard for sale now :S
Interesting topic, personally I wouldn't ever drive a car with non road legal plates on but I can see the attraction.
If people are going to be short sighted and shallow enough to tailgate/shout abuse etc I would just leave them to it and brake lightly so they don't go in the back of you...
jeez you guys are far too helpful on here! :)
Thanks for all the info, yes I had a look at Ktec and they do a Carbon one for less (£95+vat) so backwards it's not true. If I get it I'll be getting one of those I think.
Thanks again for the help.
Just a quick one...
I've found a 172 Cup for sale which has had a cad d repair on the front bumper. The result being it's missing the front plastic splitter, does anyone know how much they cost from renault?
Megata.
Joe
Back in the Ford Orion/ Fiesta days you could lock all ford cars with the same type of key and some of them did open others but wouldn't start them.
This is an interesting topic though and would be intrigued to see what Renault have to say about this. I'll try it myself when I get mine as my...
Yes it should mean that you have cruise control from what I remember anyway :)
I can't remember on the rain sensitivre wipers but it adjusts the intermittant(sp) time that they work for, I think there's a way to turn it off, like the automatic headlights, but I can't honestly remember but it...
Hi all, I'm currently looking for a 172, I have owned several previously but I was wondering if someone could help me with the bad points on high mileage models.
I have found one around 70k, pristine condition with a full RSH. Can anyone tell me if there's any major things that go wrong after...
Hi Si, I'm new to the forum too but have previously owned 172's. They come with loads of stuff! Xenon lights, Climate control, loads of airbags :D yummy leather interior, ESP, remote central locking, what kind of things did you mean?
If it's a 53 plate and one of the last batches on the...
Hi there,
My name's Joe, not currently a Clio owner but I have owned 3 previously, 2 of which being Sport 172's and one Cup 172, I currently dirve a lary green mini which is currently up for sale. As soon as it has sold, I'll be sourcing a Black Sport 172, I'm really surprised what good money...
