Track rod end slight play - quoted £125?

Thanks you for all your input/advice. I'll be pressing forwards with getting the replacement Lemforder part, but i won't be fitting it as mechanical gubbins really isn't my forte.

Track rod end slight play - quoted £125?

Hi all, I sent my 182 to Renault yesterday for a service and i've been warned of a few faults from their customary VH check. The main concern i have is that they've identified 'slight play in the n/s/f track rod end, and with that have quoted me a staggering £125 to repair. Having looked on...

help needed car keeps cutting out

Huzzah, Renault have actually managed to find a problem with mine! Faulty TDC sensor which is now in the process of being replaced. Although not particularly cheaply :(

help needed car keeps cutting out

I've got the same problem with my 182 and it's now been sat at a main dealer since i had to have it put on a flat bed after breaking down on a roundabout on Saturday. If they find something i'll post up.

    R*DCL - Blue 172 cup - Colchester

Nope it had the standard cup wheels in grey/silver. Was also being driven by a girl. So it could be his other half and they've changed the wheels back. Bit of a disgrace to leave the CS stickers on and not be a member though :)

    R*DCL - Blue 172 cup - Colchester

Stickered up 172 cup. Sat side by side on Cowdray Ave before going separate ways towards Brightlingsea/Alresford.

few problems, running very lumpy and uneven

The automatic choke sounds the most logical answer, with second place being a gap creating some airflow where there shouldn't be. I had an OEM exhaust centre section fitted a few months back and my problems seemed to appear after that. I was contemplating buying an 'official' renault part from...

few problems, running very lumpy and uneven

Common enough for 4 of us to all have the same issue within a week of each other! Yet no response from a member who has actually found a resolution to this... I'm dammed if i'll pay Renault to identify and fix the fault!

few problems, running very lumpy and uneven

I've been getting the same thing ranging from cold starts or from aprox. an hour after turning the engine off. Similar issue, upon attempting to accelerate - the revs seem to get stuck around 2200 and will all of a sudden surge forward towards the 3000 mark. I have also noticed that i also...

Monaco blue 182, marks tey, colchester

Struggling to justify the running costs of premium petrol atm. I'm looking at getting a diesel Seat Ibiza Cupra; for the extra price i'd get an extra 200 miles to a tank (in theory).

Monaco blue 182, marks tey, colchester

Ahh ok then yes it was me! I was confused as i know mine is an arctic... although it didnt look that way as i'd just got back from a 450 mile round trip after driving a Lambo Gallardo in Staffordshire that morning. Still, it's clean now which is all that matters :D It's a shame but the poor...

    Clio 182 exhaust help

I have grave concerns about getting a yozza. While i like the look of them, a friend has one on his 172 and it drowns out any other sound in the cabin. At motorway speeds it's hardly ideal! Is the Milltek the quietest option for aftermarket?

    Clio 182 exhaust help

Thanks Steve. I'm currently phoning round a couple of garages but if it's the case i will probably buy a Milltek or Yozza

    Clio 182 exhaust help

For that price i'd expect it to be made of solid gold. The fact the problem lies in the center sector makes be think that i only need the one section. From what i can tell there are no problems with the box itself.

    Clio 182 exhaust help

Thanks for the advice. I've just had a call from the garage i took it to last night who have told me they would need to replace the whole lot - box to center section, for a total cost of £800!! WTF?

    Clio 182 exhaust help

Hey folks, Sorry but i'm a bit thick with car parts! I've just been to the garage as the exhaust is making a racket. They put my 182 on the ramp and it turns out the joint between the back box and the cat is corroded and close to snapping. Do i need a whole exhaust or can the center section...

Twingo RS - Clingo Hill, Colchester

Black Twingo RS heading towards Clingo Hill (Colchester) from Wivenhoe around 13:40 this afternoon First time i've seen one of these in this colour in the flesh. Looked nice and tidy.

    Blue 182 colchester

Yup, was heading home from a christening. I was busy keeping an eye on the white Fiesta as the driver seemed a little careless to say the least. When it split into 2 lanes he seemed to be pretty close to hitting my rear quarter.

    Colchester spots

I saw a silver 172 ph1 and silver ph2 in the space of 200 metres last night on Cowdray Ave. Flashed the PH1 but no acknowledgement. Ignorant c***! lol ...and after 9 months of owning it, i still haven't been spotted in my 182. Wellas you don't count.

White alloys on an AB 182

Hey folks, I currently have an AB 182 on anthracite cup wheels. I've kerbed the front 2 so looking to get them repaired, but in the process i've been toying with the idea of getting all 4 powder-coated in white. Has anyone got any pictures of their own clio with a similar look? Does anyone...

    Worrying knocking - Engine/Offside wheel

I don't know if this will help but i have got my car in the garage at the moment for similar issues. I had a knocking coming from the near side front when at full lock. Turns out it was a failure of the lower suspension arm. Apparently if i'd left it much longer my suspension would have ended...

Lost the back end, ABS, TCS and SERV lights on

Thanks Alan. I'm also looking at the prospect i might have a knackered cv joint, there is an intermittant thud on full lock from the nearside front wheel once every revolution, but eases as i release the steering angle. I might have 2 seperate problems at once. If it is i will be incredibly...

Lost the back end, ABS, TCS and SERV lights on

The lights didn't come on until after i corrected the slide. As soon as i had control again, all the lights came on. As suggested i'll use the forum guide and play around with the brake sensor at the weekend and see if that does the trick for now. Do you think i could have a problem with a shock?
