Lol!
How many different answers !?
For straight line, the only thing you can base an opinion on is raw facts. 172cup has the highest power to weight ratio so in theory should be a fraction quicker than a 182cup. Also, same torque (according to EVO) as a 182 but lighter.
In the real world...
Abacus? Ah...non, these are 30mph to 70mph times not 0-60mph.
5.8 must be realistic looking at the times the other 3 cars posted.
I posted this because it's another (more interesting) measure of how quick a car will accelerate.
As tested by Autocar magazine, 30-70mph through the gears.......
Williams - 6.9seconds.
182cup - 5.8seconds.
Also,
Civic Type R (EP3) - 6.0seconds.
MK5 Golf Gti - 6.3seconds.
Interesting reading but like someone else said, there will be discrepancies between the same car.
I've heard this before regarding the Williams needing 3rd to hit 60mph. As a result, 7.6secs has got to be right. The figures do look a bit out when you consider a Saxo Vts will do 60mph in the same time. However, in the real world of driving, the Williams will obviously feel that bit quicker...
So, I've finally parted with the Vts and I'm due to pick up a 172 cup tomorrow night.
Can anyone help with a couple of quick questions as the site doesn't appear to have a search option - unless I'm mistaken.
1. I know they're 16s but what is the standard tyre size ?
2. Were the 172cup...
I'm sure this will have been covered before on here before but I did a quick search and couldn't find anything - apologies if it has!
(I'm fairly new on here)
I've read on other forums that a lot (or some) 182s don't make the power they should. In other words, standard cars making way less...
Do you think anybody is going to take a blind bit of notice to someone who can't even spell CITROEN ? You got it wrong in your previous post too. :clown:
Blah, blah, blah, build quality, blah, blah, blah, build quality.
Lmfao!
No one for thrill a minute old school hot hatchbacks then mate ??
You stick to the luxury of the Clio sweet pea! :clown:
Just thought I'd tell you about an experience I had recently regarding this.
I have a Honda Civic VTI which puts out peak power of 158bhp. It's done 40,000 miles and has full service history. The point I'm making here is that the car has been well looked after so should still be making around...
Cheers for this mate - you learn something new every day! :)
p.s
Yeah, It's the 7ft Russian that leathered Apollo Creed. A classic film - best Rocky film imo.
These are the sort of figures I'd expect to see given the spec, must surely be quicker than 7.7 to 60mph!
Even the Williams forum have it down as 7.7secs, I've got a roadtest of a 1.8 16V tested at 7.4secs!?
Hello there, I'm new to the forum, hope you're a friendly bunch! :)
Don't drive a Clio just yet but looking to trade my Saxo VTS in for a 182Cup in the not too distant future.
Anyway, I've got a question regarding the Williams Clio, I've done a search but can't find the answer......can...
